I'm not going to be able to be in game for a day or two, but thinking about my character path. What are the prerequisites for novice commando?

If I can only get novice and a few of the skills, because of lack of points, is getting into commando worth it?

If so, what skills would you suggest?

My primary profession is ranger. I have pistal, rifle and ranged support maxed out. I do mostly some exploring and hunting. Ocasional PvP and PvE, and that's where I want some more abilities. I know I need to work on my PvP tactics. Although on a battlefield I surprised everyone by sneaking up on the opposing base, and taking half of it out, before they figured it out and came back to kill me.

you have to have master marksman and unarmed 4 in brawler in order to get commando novice

once you get novice commando id recommend doing the flamethrower tree first

also you can use pistol skills with the launcher pistol so having pistoleer skills is an added bonus although not totally necessary.

at any rate a good launcher pistol and flamethrower will get you going pretty good once you have novice commando

Well, you're not THAT close. Novice Commando also requires 40,000 Combat XP, which equates to 400,000 marksman (pistol, rifle and/or carbine) xp. Some say this is the hardest part about becoming a novice commando.

If he has everything but Unarmed4 and the Carbine Skills, by the time he hits Master Marksmen he should already have the 40k Combat XP saved up.

Also you can get combat xp by using grenades, since grenades give full combat xp.

The C12 grenade is the only one I know of that marksman has basic cert in. Get a crate or two of those (its 5x per grenade). They do pretty heavy damage so you can kill maybe 1000 Ham animals with em fairly easy, if they are blast vulnerable. Should be possible to get that 40k combat xp in a hour or two, I know I got it in a fraction of the time compared to getting unarmed..

Hmm, OK thanks. I already have unarmed up to 3, and all but carbine in marksman. So Im close kinda.

why when someone is interested in a class he's automatically a bandwagoner, you aren't so special that you toughed it out, who gives a **edit**e if a class sounds fun and he wants to play it. Go to it guy and have fun, this is a fun class.

For that extra combat exp needed (40k), I say go up the pistoleer tree to enhance the use of the launcher pistol when you get the 40k. Then I would suggest to get a pet, get some medic skills, and just use the launcher pistol until you hit Flame 3 where you will actually hit something.

MagicHobo (cool name by the way - it brings to my mind a fairy in stinky ratted clothes drinking mad dog 20/20 in a brown paper bag):

So what if he is a Wagon rider? If that's how he has fun, and doesn't exploit the game who are you to tell him not to have fun?

AMEN! I tell anyone that thinks they may be interested to jump on board, it's a blast! (yeah yeah, that's my pun)

The best of his class at secret training grounds on Yinchorr, Kanos was an expert at the echani fighting form and in wielding a force pike. Kanos' fanatical loyalty, though, was his greatest and most dangerous weapon. Even after Palpatine was defeated at Endor, Kanos and his fellow Royal Guardsmen remained true to the Imperial ideal. As Imperial moffs and admirals began greedily carving up the Empire to fuel their own ambitions, Kanos attempted to uphold the codes of the New Order.

These "Bandwagon" comments makes it sound like you only expectone person on each server to make Commando, cuz everyone else must be copying them. That is meant for only the serious bandwagon comments. Originally, I was working towards BH. I was working thru my Marksman skills nicely, but Scout was taking a lil too long. Thats when I decided to switch my profession to Commando, so I guess Ive been on the Bandwagon for quite some time now.
