how many does commando take and how far into ranger can i go once i have master commando?

You can't get very far at all. Just play with a character editor though.

you can't even get novice ranger if you mastered commando, you'd be left with 4 skill points after you mastered commando and scout.....now if you didn;t learn the field tactics tree for example you'd be able to go up 1 whole tree in ranger I believe (I didn't actually work out the math, so it may be wrong)....
