Thread: New Commando Question on RL

I am new to Commando and have to say that it is a blast. I have done several other profession from MCH, Pistoleer, Smuggler, and others but this is a ton of fun. I have managed to get to 0-0-1-0 and was working up the Flame tree when a friend ask me about the RL. So I decided to try for fun and shot it 2 times, missed both times! LOL

So my question is at what point in the Tree (Heavy Support) does the RL start to hit things?

They are pretty expensive so I didn't want to waste em.

In one word - never. The commando accuracy bonus with the RL is only +50. To put it in perspective, the TKM is +205 in unarmed accuracy, andthe rifleman is +160 in rifle accuracy.

I'm a new commando as well and I hit about 50% of the timewith the Rocket Launcher.

Here's the steps i take to fire the RL.


-Get 55 to 60 meters from target.

- Knell ( F2 key )

- Aim ( F3 key )

- Fire RL ( F4 key ) I draged the RL into the F4 key from my inventory.


I think its the aiming that helps with accuracy.

im a master commando and i'd have to agree with some of the above points, and disagree also...


ill have to look when i get home..but i think the acruacy at master brings the total to higher than +50 now (so go master! )


though i still hit a little better/little less than 50% of the time, you'll still miss a whole lot. I use rockets to bring down things like rancors (pretty effective) and used to use them on kryat dragons before they were buffed to high heaven.


if you want to use them for just show, then the acruacy doesn't really mater all that much, but if your looking to actually hit somthing and kill it, i would suggest master because the Heavy weapons tree really doesn't do it as far as hitting squat, the speed mods are really handy, but thats about it

Rockets are for the master ONLY... at master u will have 100 acc and 60 spd. 48-64m and kneeled u will hit your target 80% of the time. Now using rockets are gonna be harder than trying to flame things on the run... but when performed correctly u will anihlate people on a field. All i do is pvp... I carry 150rnds of rockets and 100 rnds of particle on me at all times. Rockets when used right will ONE HIT INCAP most things and bring a buffed target to his knees.


I am a Master Commando, I run around with the Artilleryman title and heavy weapons are my most used weapons. I actually coin myself in raids as artillery... I went to a raid 2 nights ago and made 900 faction in 3hrs because we were entrenched and I was hurting the opposition so bad. Not only do rockets 1 hit incap or at the very least do 700-2300 AP3 in PVP, but they have a 10m radius also, I have watched people too close to my target get incapped from the blast.

Wow..thanks bud.


Ive only ever tried RL once and I wasnt that impressed but I guess I was doing it all wrong.


First thing I do when I get home is dust off the RL I have in store and go play with some rancors.


And if its that good in PvP them ill be very happy.

Oh and I forgot to add... I do not do turrets... my rockets are only for soft targets.
