As posted in pvp how much dmg does the thermal detonator do.. and what are the burn ticks at and how quick do they tick

i'm not sure exactly, but i am sure it isn't as impressive as you would think. they certainly don't strike as much fear into people as they did in ROTJ.

i think they can be crafted with venom for a bit beter dot. but not much. the base ones that drop have a 40 point fire dot that tics for 30. it will take about 3 rounds to throw one tho=( by then you will already have been knocked down and armor break applied.

Any idea if the DOT can be experimented higher on crafted ones?

No acklay venom can only be put into cryobans and glop grenades. If you experiment for damage and have -really- good venom (IE over 1.4k max damage) you can easily hit a max damage of around 2k and a maxed out dot

yes, acutally, they are effective, hitting for about 500 after armor and whatnot.

what makes them effective is that you can hit 30+ targets for 500.

and i dont know about everyone else but my nades only have a 6 second timer.

bout the same here.


And yeah. for AOE damage I tend to go for protons. Thermals if I dont have leisure time. Tossing out a proton in PVP once I was well rewarded with several incap messages


Mostly these days though I find myself using glops, post CU cryobans and especially imperial detonators for that fun 30m radius KD. Nothing like seeing a whole ton of people get knocked on their ass by an imp det.

I must have a set of crappy thermal dets. I cant get them to tick at all. I hit, the figure has the "flame" graphic around themand the icon shows up, but it seems like it doesnt matter how long I fight the target the flame goes out before any "fire" damage is done.


(my cryobans last about 1 second as well)

I had some cryos made with venom. Max dmg was listed at over 2k, but they consistently hit for 700 dmg which about half was absorbed by the armor. Is this normal?
