Thread: Caps on Commando Weapons?

first let me say many thanks to the Commando 3.0 stat guide... I pulled the list of commando weapons from there.
Mainly I'm curious what the caps are on our weapons. I know that the SAC is 100 but not completely sure about the rest.
Also this is the list of WS-created commando weapons I came up with... did I leave anything out?
Launcher Pistol
Rocket Launcher
Heavy Particle Beam Cannon
Heavy Lightning Beam Cannon
Flamethrower
Heavy Acid Rifle
Heavy Acid Stream Launcher
Plasma Flamethrower
I'm kinda curious what the special ability of each weapon is?
I know that the Rocket Launcher is a Knockdown effect, the Flamethrower is a Flame DoT (Damage over time).

I think you got all of the player crafted weapons there (not including grenades). I believe Commando weapons cap at 1148 max damage for CL 54 weapons. I'm not sure about elemental, but I think the LBC can get a bit over 200 (217 or so?). Here's a list of following effects and abbreviations for our weapons.
Launcher Pistol (LP) Area of Effect (AOE seems to center around target and not a cone).
Rocket Launcher (RL) KD (AOE is broken).
Heavy Acid Launcher (HAR) Blind (also blinds you AOE is also broken).
Flamethrower (FT) Fire DoT AOE in a cone.
Heavy Particle Beam Cannon (HPBC) AOE is supposed to work in a straight line but is hard to test if it's really working or not.
Lightning Beam Cannon (LBC) Fire Dot AOE in a cone and I think it's supposed to slow down vehicles??
Acid Stream Launcher (ASL) Blind AOE in a cone (a really big cone).
Plasma Flamethrower (PFT) Fire DoT AOE in a cone.
Hope this helps. I think the weaponsmiths forum would be a better source for damage/speed/sac/elemental caps and such.

nope the only cap mentioned on the WS forum is the max damage cap for a PFT

Well the cap for the PFT is the cap for the class in regards to CL54 weapons (ie Rifles cap at 1184). So if we ever got the proton rifle schematic, and could get it crafted...most likely it would follow suit as well.
Now with the LBC, I read somewhere that the cap is the same as if it were a PFT too...but Im honestly not exactly certain (I have little experience on my WS toon with getting to damage caps).
Also keep in mind, that there are slicing caps (ie I can't slice my proton grenades that have a max damage of 1090...which, by the way, sucks majorly as I have gotten protons to 1,100+ in crafting) as well as caps on the lower levels (ie the RL caps at around mid-high 300's in max damage).
The weaponsmith forum has a thread devoted to caps, but many of the Heavy Weapon damage caps for the lower levels are not recorded - so any commando weaponsmiths, weaponsmiths interested, or commandos who have the resources to...could help out a ton by posting this data and filling out those listings over at the weaponsmith forums.

Okies, got some info on the ASL:
Crafting cap on max damage is 735.
I got 199 elemental damage on it, and it is not cap yet (probably over 200?).
SAC, well 100.
Speed cap must be under 2.5.
Also my Proton rifle got more than 1184 damage, thus I think the cap on this one must be higher (perhaps b/c it is a looted gun?)

Maybe, or because of power-ups/slicing and for looted weapons, I've heard you could go over normal caps....
Im pretty much referring to crafted weapons (pretty sure if the PR was craftable, it would adhere to something along the lines of our PFT).

Maybe Starnick knows. He knows a lot about Commando weapons. Or you could talk some weaponsmith into trying to cap several aspects of several Commando weapons. I found credits help with that sort of thing. For example, the elemental cap on ASL's is 200. Paid a weaponsmith to do this once.
