Thread: Beyond the flamethrower......

ok, this is my damned 6th time mastering commando from scratch. I have two really good flamethrowers (Krayt w/ 30% spd and 30% dmg)


But there must be more....beyond the flamethrower. So I ahve a handful of questions since the last time I mastered commando...the general state of combat in this game was different.


-H.A.R is still useless. Has anyone found an effective way to use it? Is it good for anything other than a mob w/ 100% heat resists?


-Grenades. From what I know they're great for combat xp but not much else. Any good in PvP? If so, which ones?


-Heavy Weapons. Rockets. Acid Stream Launchers....etc. What situations are these good for? Assuming cost isn't an issue.

har still useless IMO any way. Grenades only for combat exp so ummm

theres a 80% Chance that everything has remained the same since you last mastered...


HAR is still as horrible, gernades still have no fixes or true purposes save for cxp, and most disposables aren't that great save for the HPBC, RL, and the Acid streamer....and even then, its cheaper and usually more effective picking up an elite profession to compensate (like swordsman for blast or rifleman for acid...etc)

the rocket launchers are great for impressing Noobs in Mos Eisley, killing spice fiends in 1 shot.


thats about it tho.

I might be the noob commando here (mastered this morning) but I look at things differently... not going into PVE, only PvP


FT: I'm currently testing the marksman specials and how they can be used


HAR: doesn't seem worth it, unless you can get one with made with: imp formfitted stock, super accurate scope (over +40), and at least -0.8 tissue.. (and a speedslice)


I've seen one guy post here who had a HAR made with these components, and an execeptional looted barrel who seemed to use it a lot on PvP


Grenades: put some experimentation points into range/Accuracy and they'll be much better.

In pvp grenades and mousedroids are THE jedi killers (no saberblock vs.grenades)



Heavies: I've done some testing and I think THEY FRIGGIN ROCK.

I had all the heavies custom made with an accuracy experimented stock, accuracy is now over 70@ideal, with citrus cake and /aim I don't seem to miss a lot...


I've done most of the testing with the heavy particle beam, and I can say it really really hurts people I accidently incapped my guildie today while I was testing. a few more weeks and I'll find the sweetspot on accuracy vs. speed/damage on these.


for PvP: my initial impression is that the speedsliced heavies are also better, due to increased firing rate (higher DPS)
