There was a pretty detailed post on this in the Jedi forum last night. However rather than addressing the rumor and its vaildity or lack thereof SOE used itsinfamous customer service techniques and ignored and deleted the post. I hope it gets reposted until someone actually addresses the issues rather than trying to ignore it.

I was wondering how long it would take before this got here...lol
It is pure RUMOR!!! It is a fact that anytime Lucas Arts has licensed out something this same RUMOR always pops up with particular job openings and 99% of the time it proves false...
The sad part of this Rumor is that JTL is suppose to launch at the end of the month, so we won't have to wait to long to prove it right or wrong, but I'm fairly confident that it willbe proven"wrong"...

Well its certainly a change of the guard from Lucas Arts side of things and if they aren't separating from SOE.

The rumor originally included (before its deletion) talk about an announcement of yet another expansion pack for the game as well. And if you notice in the job posting from Lucas Arts it talks about the ability to mange mutliple exopansion packs to the game so woot woot more goodies in teh future anyway.
I Love these lines in the job post by Lucas Arts:
- Establish, maintain and enhance creative relatinships with internal resources and the external developer. Foster positive working relationship and teamwork within the development teams with an emphasis on communication.
- Drive the creation of long-term strategic, business and development plans for the Star Wars Galaxies line of products, then deliver on those plans.
- Maintain close communication with the outside developer to ensure they meet contractual requirements and deliver the highest quality product on schedule and on budget.
So it appears by the the job title outside developement is in the job description (maybe a quell to the rumor) but I love the "emphasis on communication"as well as the line "then deliver on those plans" and may favorite of all is "deliver the highest quality product on schedule and on budget." I have to say though if their plans are to stay with SOE they are looking for a miracle there.

Hmmm maybe though I think he might indeed fail on the communication prereq and seeming he works for SOE I'm not sure about the "ON schedule" desire of Lucas Arts. LOL

The Job post is for a position at Lucas Arts that was already there (which leads some folks to believe that a certain person is leaving or getting promoted/transferred)...I won't say whoI think it is because I don't want to spread any more rumors but I can confirm this isn't a new position (at least that's what other's have told me)...
Some folks have been spreading rumors that this is a new postion that stems from the possible Lucas Arts take back...this is very very FALSE...it's not a new position which only makes the rest of us further believe the original rumor is false...

Yeah it seems in the post that they are looking for someone who can deal with SOE, rather than looking to replace it. I don't know if someone is getting demoted/promoted or whatever but I just have a kick out of lookingat the job duties and laugh to myself. I also just find it outright helirious that with all the negative fellings right now held but so many that they would just deletd the post and not say anything to the effect the post was a rumor that was incorrect and would sit and let it continue to propagated and get embilished. Its just another detail example of how SOE chooses to handle its customer base. That truly has me laughing this morning as I was last night. I've been through all faces now, calm and collective, angry and frustrated now I'm simply dillusional; and insane woot woot I'm gald this game is my relaxation and escape for the pains of RL.

sorry, I didn't mean to spread a rumor. I just was curious and figured us commandos could discuss it maturely (and we have, IMO), instead of a server flamefest.
