Thread: Where have all the Commandos gone?
Commandos can make a few things, but not weapons. We can create enhancements to grenades and the like, I know. But not the grenades or weapons themselves. So, if you want to make your own stuff, you need to go weaponsmith too.
As far as FAQs and such? It took me about a month before making commandos and I don't think many people did much better than that than by a week. Anyway, there haven't been many commandos around for a long time is my point. And then, with heavy weapons bugged as it is and three of the four commando branches requiring heavy weapon experience to advance...
Most commandoes just haven't gone very far into the class to write a guide, I'm sure. If you're interested in schematics they get, hit CTRL+S in the game, click on all professions and look at each part of commando. That'll show you what they get when. Certification in a weapon doesn't mean you can make it--only that you can use it.

This Goes out to all the commandos out there!
First of all I would like to know where i can find a nice commando Faq on the great qualities a commando may or may not posess. Also I have a few questions
I'm working on writing a commando FAQ now. I'm waiting for the next batch of fixes to be put in before I post it though. I'll answer your questions here in the meantime.
Can Commandos Make their own weapons since they get the schematics for them, without any previous artisan training? No.
And if you need artisan training to make these weapons how far in the artisan/weaponsmithing field must you go to make them effective in combat?
Flamethrower and acid rifle schematics are granted at Master Weaponsmith. Thereare charged items that are available far earlier on the tree, such as grenades and cannons. It's best to buy your weapons, in my opinion.
Why are there no certifications for Acid Rifle/Flamethrower and whatnot for them, do they just innately get these skills or is it a bug?
The Flamethrower certification works. The acid rifle certification is broken, but works on the test server.
Would being a rifleman add any benefits to the commando profession or just a waste because youd be using commando weaponry and doing any of these type of elite professions would just be a waste?
If you plan on using heavy weapons as your main weapon, adding rifleman would be redundant; you can only use one weapon at a time (obviously). However, mastering the Sniping Accuracy line grants you "sniper shot", which would allow you to deathblow at range (which is great if you care for PvP)
What would be the best option for a sub-profession to go with Commando for best versatility/survival and mob slaying? You have a lot of options. The most popular is Teras Kasi Artist, which is a good (many say too good) set of skills for taking down critters up close. Also popular is taking medic up to at least Pharm 3 and First Aid 2, which would allow for use of StimCs (300+ healing packs) and FirstAid to stop bleeding attacks. Many choose to take the Exploration tree in the basic scout line, which allows for greater movement over hills.
If you want to save a few points on faction skills, you can quickly and easily get the pistol xp to take smuggler and the first box of the Underworld line, which gives a 10% discount to faction perks. Smuggler also has a bunch of pistol skills, an item buffing line, and a crafting line. For "survival and mob slaying", I'd definitely pick up at least some medic skills.
I would like my Commando to take on large groups of Mobs with little or no Worries...so let me know I'm really into soloing and i really like blowing things up...any help would be greatly appreciated.
As of right now, you
Sorry for triple post, not sure how that happened, I wasn't even finished yet...
