To My Commando Brothers, Sisters and other Community Members,
It is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement, but I have decided to step down as the Commando Correspondent. It has been a great run and I have enjoyed my time immensely being the Correspondent of such an outstanding community. The passion, pride and dedication you all have shown is something to be envied by others and something I know will live on past my time. When I first became your Correspondent I told you all I wouldn't take the position unless you all helped me...and you ALL have more then fulfilled your end of the deal as I know you will continue to do for the next Commando Correspondent.
I want you all to know that I am not making this decision based on anything against SOE, their decisions or disagreements. Just the opposite, I still feel great things are coming to Commandos with the CU and beyond and I'm still impressed with many of the committed changes the SOE team has made lately in listening to the player base (as well as the cool changes to come). I just feel that the time is good to pass the torch on to another. Down the road I even hope to someday return as your Correspondent (if you'll still have me) after others have served their time fully. Part of being a Correspondent is letting others have a chance to experience the honor.
Some of you may feel like this is a bad time or a loss for our community. I disagree. I see my stepping down as a good thing. I will still remain actively involved as a "Blue Glowie"…I will still have an active place in the CU as a tester (who doesn't take up one of our Sandbox Slots)…And I will still have access to all the same forums I currently have…so really, this won't change much, except I won't be leading you. Another great benefit from me stepping down is that it will open Commando Sandbox slot (which will be up to the new Correspondent to choose how they see fit…but I'll make some recommendations of course). This will bring our AlphaTeam up to 5 testers, 1 Correspondent and 2 Blue Glowies...not to shabby...
If I had any regrets, it's that I'm leaving without seeing many of the changes we have been working for come live, but the good news is that many of them are slated for the Combat Upgrade.
So please…do not look upon this a bad thing or a blow to our community. There are many of great community members who I know could easily make a great new Commando Correspondent. During my time as your Correspondent I have been proud to brag that I have the best community out there and everyday you all prove me right.
When it's all said and done, I may be stepping down, but know this…I'm not going ANYWHERE!!! I will remain an active member of our community. Commando is where I began my time in this game and Commando is where I will finish my time in this game.

Shame to see you go Garvin, you've been one of the really good correspondents. Personally, I would have preferred to have you at our helm.

Sad to see you go....you're one of the best correspondants by far (I browse the forum A LOT...almost all profs..so I can know lol)

Wow....
This is tough one to swallow...Feel like I have been kicked in the gut...The best correspondent in the game.

your guidance has lead this community into its current glory just as much as our collective conrtibutions. You are leaving some mighty big shoes for your succesor to fill. How many other correspondents created a seperate website devoted entirely to their profession? How many other correspondents have fought so fiercly to ensure our wheel is the squeakiest. Your guidance has made this my community of choice, a tough decision since my last community was the ranger community, one nearly on par with us. See you in game.

But in all sereousness, I can't say I understand why you're choosing to step down if not for some RL thing that's makeing you, which you've said it isn't since you're not going anywhere (yay!).
no one will replace you, but I'm sure one of us will try. and so long as you're not going anywhere... you can still do the same things you did as our cor!

You werenot one of the best coorespondents for the game you are THE BEST and wish you would reconsider but we all honor your decision.
Before you go can you send one flamsingle area 2 across the bow of that coorespondent board lol.
