Thread: PVE: Commando vs. Rifleman

Obviously this seems like a pretty clear choice now. Most choose rifleman for high end pve such as krayts, etc. But what holds commando's back from outdamaging riflemen in these situations? Is it just the slow speed on flamers? If I had one around 2.5 speed or maybe as low as 2.0 would I then outdamage a rifleman?

No. even if we could fire at the speed capp (as can rifleman currently...) we still wouldn't outdamage them because of AP. they have T21s, we have FTs. now if you took into account the fact that if we fired at the speed capp we could probably stick 20-30 flame dots on a mob and keep them there (cycling FTs) then we could KILL a monster faster, but they would still outdamage us and get looting rights because out burns don't count...

that's the rub on things like ancient krayts, commandoes take them down faster, but a rifleman gets looting rights.

Of course as a Commando/Rifleman you don't have to worry about that

yea, but I lose much less condition on a flamethrower if i use it. I hate having to sitch over just because an idiot does not want to attack the 4 others withen 200m that no one is atttacking.

LOL so true... you look around and see 4-5 others sitting around you and the bastage is to lazy to do his own work so goes after yours. Happened twice to me last night... I did switch to rifle but hey he helped get my tissues for me faster
