Commando's are not suddenly "all-powerful".

The Min-Max damage alone is making some peoplewhine. Why?

I'm a novice commando... and do you know what the changes did for me? Nothing, yet. You actually have to train inthe profession to get the benefits. Imagine! I ran right out and bought my new flamethrower and my new heavy acid rifle and guess what? Currently,... they are expensive novelty items that are only good for aiming at bases. My best commando weapon is still my old launcher pistol that I bought at the beginning... and that's really only good because to get to Commando I became a Master Marksman. The pistol skills I previously earned are helping me there.

The last patch did not suddenly turn everyone that enters the profession into a god. So, calm down. By the time I earn the XP and spend the SP to train to the point where I can use my Commando weapons to their best advantage... someonecould easily have gotten high enough in BH to still throw down a serious butt-kicking also.

More combat training = better combat performance. I am ALL for that. BH requires a lot, their power should reflect that. Commando requires alot and their power should reflect that. Next BH that whines should be turned into a rifleman. That is a professionwith a legitimate beef.

No matter what the Min-Max Damage is on a weapon... you've got to hit the targetfirst. Also, special attacks with Commando weapons are hard to earn, rare, andVERY costly. How many of you don't use specials and just use the basic attacks of your weapons... honestly? If you are smart and use specials to put all your shotsagainstthe same HAM bar on your opponent... you don't need to do massive damage. The first missions I ran after buying my new flamethrower and acid rifle, I put them up... pulled out my old weaponsand killed opponents MUCH faster usingRifleman Mindshot on some andBodyshots from my Launcher Pistol on others... The shots I managed to actually hit with the flamthrower looked pretty ...but were RARE and didn't drop my opponents half as fast as targeting specificHAM bars with other weapons and other specials I've earned.

Once someone masters as a Commando... they should be among the most powerful fighters in SWG. They've trained combat skillsharder than any other profession, and spent more SP's on specifically combat- only skills. So, if you get one-shotted by a highly-trained commando... tough. They earned it.

agreed. I was using a launcher pistol to grind out HW xp (dealing with the lag from that ought to be worth the right to use these weapons alone =) ) and worked up to flamethrower 2 among other things. I still miss quite a bit with my brand new flamethrower. In fact...the only time I hit pretty consistently is up close and personal. Until I hit flamethrower 4, I'm going to deal quite a bit of damage up close, but I'll be taking it just as bad until then.

I like how the novice noob that started this thread thinks that he has the credentials to spend 5+ paragraphs telling everyone how the world works.

You guys deserve to be on top of the food chain for awhile. I am a BH and i am just writing to say cong. I hope no nerf comes your way. Thought I would let you know that there is at least one BH on your side.

Almost as good as someone who dismisses an entire 5 paragraphs of truthful, legitimate opinions because it was written by a "novice noob".

Ok littlebunny.

Here's THE expert to chime in on the validity of this post.

He's 100% speaking the truth.

I had no launcher pistol (it was broken then) and had to use the flamethrower to skill up with.

Guess what?

I missed 7 out of 10 times. Standing, kneeling, prone.

It didn't matter.

These things haven't changed. The gun just does more damage now.

Thanks...

agreed

i tried commando (with the 'godlike' weapons) out in pvp...and without support i sucked, primarily cuz i was against two BH's that were spamming eyeshot..but thats not the point

i was only doinbg around 300-400 dmg due to 75% decrease, approx what i do with stopping shot for lp/fwg5 - but this time, i fired bit slower..and missed a ton

however they incapped me before i even GOT into 17 m range to fire my specials which wouldve killed em in one shot

so basically we're a meleer with a big gun..yet ppl still cry nerf - we are a support class, designed to take people out in *close quarters* and vechicular destruction from a far with beam weapons etc

with the patch now, it actually makes people have to develop strategies to defeat us, and vice versa since we got gigantic strengths and weaknesses

me, b/c i'm tka, and doing so kills me incredibly fast (even w/o VK, w/o armor)

i'm much better off just armoring up, putting on vk's, and sticking it out (assuming the mob doesn't kit in which case i'm screwed...and i don't even want to talk about pvp)

congrats on being the "new and improved melee"
