I currently have a wookie command. He is only two blocks into command so I have not put a lot of work into the toon yet. I started playing SWG because I wanted to do PvP and I want to join the empire (rebel scum). However, I am told armor is really important in PvP, and the empire is racist. I just want a few opinions....do I reroll or not??? My biggest concern is the empire faction price for stuff. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance!!!!!

You don't really have to reroll, if you want to join the rebel faction you can resign the imperial faction then start working on your rebel faction. Might take a you a bit depending on how high up you worked your faction points into the imperial faction, but it'd certainly save you alot of trouble in terms of having to re-level your character.

Still, if re-grinding your character isn't a huge concern for you and you have a very big negative faction rating with the rebels, then yes, you may want to reroll.

You have to pay extra for Empire faction perks, I'm a fellow Wookie Imperial Commando, so I know the score. Look at it this way though, the Empire has AT-STs. You have to pay triple for them, but as a Rebel, you could have a billion faction points and not have anything even remotely as good. I don't know you personally, but from the sounds of it, you don't mind doing extra work if it pays off in the long run. Trust me, joining the Empire pays off in the long run. The Rebels have the advantage in the GCW due to greater numbers, but 3 AT-STs means a single Imperial can take on more than his share of Rebel scum if it comes to that.

As to being a Wookie, well...armor's very important, yes, but you can compensate by getting Personal Shield Generators. The highest end PSGs can get to 35ish % resists on EVERY damage type, making it competitive as an alternative to armor, plus it has ZERO encumberances, that combined with the Wookie's significant (we get about +300 more points than a Human, also, +10 taming bonus means we can call out Kliknik Queens at 2/2/0/0 CH) natural stat advantage can be extremely helpful. It wears out faster than armor, but if you just use it for PvP that's not much of a concern, since it tends to be way cheaper than comparable armor too.

I've heard the rumor that in the latest patch faction pets are no longer tradable. Now, I haven't had a chance to try to do that yet, but if that's the case, and you don't have AT-STs yet, you might be better off re-rolling a Human, AT-STs can be prohibitively expensive for a Wookie, base cost is 28,500 or so, that's at least 29 hours of work PER.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but if you think the Mona Lisa is not a good painting, frankly it says more about you than it does about Da Vinci's skills as a painter.

Seriously as a commando why go Imp?

You lose out on the sheer joy of destroying 3 At-St's with flamecone2.

Oh yeah. Imps really hate me now.

I haven't seen an At-St all day.

Being an evilWookiee is workable. On one hand you have to pay much more for everything but on the otherif you were a Rebel you wouldn't have much to spend the points on. It's not like you'll be wearing Stormtrooper or Marine armor so there's no loss there.Rebel infantry is not on par with Imperial infantry but Rebels have the best furniture in the galaxy(true fact!).If faction points are a real problem you can always take up Smuggler.

I think you're real problem is that you're an Imperial Commando. What are you going to do? Sure you can blow up turrets but so can Rebels and they get to blow up AT-STs too. If you hang out in Anchorhead or roam around Theed AT-STs will evencome to you but Turrets wont. Besides most Wookiees consider being enslaved for menial labor a relatively offensive custom of the Empire.

I was negative 2000 rebel faction before I realized the empire was racist. The fastest way to get faction points back into the positive numbers is doing deliveries on anchorhead.

Here is a tip for the delivery missions.

Stand in the right spot and don't move.

Honestly wook, I say go with what makes you happy. I went with a rodian - we're not the best but we're not bad either. I don't even wear armor to be honest, it just costs too much and I can get by just fine with out it. You can make due if you play smart.

I think this game needs more wookie commandos, that's an awesome balance.

Oh there are reason Ivoni Mainly because my best friend's Human and she wanted to be an Imperial. I just didn't care, I would be on top of the food chain regardless of which side I took anyway. As to Flamethrowers owning AT-STs...it's far worse than I ever thought Rocket Launchers would be. Revenge TEF + 2k unhealable dots = not good. It's really a 1-shot kill on AT-STs now. They'll hopefully fix that one day, in the meantime, AT-STs are still useful for PvE purposes.
