Commando Archive

I just dropped master combat medic, whichis fun to play, and now I'm trying for commando. One thing I notice which puzzles me is commandos don't get any terrain negotiation points. I would think a commando would get this skill.

Has this topic been discussed before?

It has...and I think there is a pretty split opinion....

Many people feel that the Commando is a fighting machine specializing in outdoor combat and there for should have terrain negotiation skills...

Other's feel that to give terrain negitiation skills would be stepping on the toes of Rangers since that's one of their inviting features...Also those folks see mounts (and the upcoming vehicles) as a reason that we don't need terraign negotiation skills.

For me, I dropped all my scouting skills the day Mounts came out and haven't missed them (except when game crashes and I'm out in them middle of now where...when I load the game back up, can't recall the mount). I think of it as...we carry some pretty big and heavy weapons...so it makes sense it that we would run slower up hills then other professions...we got the BIG GUNS (or we should)!!!
