Thread: I solo'd a stacker, there is hope yet....

I went out with my favorite weaponsmith(very very good weaponsmith) and we made a few of every commando weapon and tested it against stackers non stackers and jedi's in the knight trials and have pulled some very interesting info.


Grenades:


Vs Stacker: This in pvp is still not that great, a fencer stacker with centered will dodge almost ever hit and even when it does hit its for very little damage(400ish with a proton(don't get to close ouch!)).


Vs Jedi: I got this to hit every single time, Jedi's cannot saber-block grenades, however their force armor will still hit. To hit a jedi without force armor you can actually do some decent damage(was hitting around 600-1k with a proton grenade damage sliced and damage powered-up(around 5600 max damage)) With force armor you really do very little and even less to their force.


Vs. Non-Stacker: hits often does about 500 damage depending on armor but not enough to really be usefull vs any other attack.


Flame Thrower:


Vs Stacker: Don't even bother, if your close enough to flame single 2 on them then they are close enough to beat you senseless, even if you throw in an aim and fire a flame against a fencer dodger its a 1/10 chance of hitting..for me anyway..


Vs Jedi: i got about 1/100 hits on a jedi with flame single 2, while aiming and kneeling, when i did hit i hit him for 2300 damage with a 1101 max flame thrower, ticked for about 579, almost solo'd him with that just one hit. This was with force armor.


Vs Non-stacker: can be very very nasty if it hits, got this to hit 3/5 times with aim even when moving.

Didn't even bother..


Heavy Weapons:


Rocket Launcher:


Vs. Stacker: I hit almost every single hit while the fencer stacker was centered at 64m. This was with a speed sliced RL with a 3800 max did about 900ish damage each hit(not counting armor reduction)


Vs. Jedi: Don't bother jedi block 100% with the rl it seems.


Vs. Non-stacker: at the 64m it just hurts! =P


Particle Beam Launcher:


Vs. Stacker: I pwned a stacker solo with this one day. I had 3 of these all above 3k damage, all speed sliced down to about 3.5 speed. I ran into theed overt on accident and saw a stacker 64m away, i launched 1 rl and spammed the partical, and the beam launcher hit 6 times in a row, each for 1000 some damage, and 3 of the hits took his mind completely out(wasn't wearing a helmet) killed him before he even got to me. The partical beam launcher for me fired every 1 second so i layed it out very nicely. This was also a fencer stacker. I did test this against my favorite fencer dummy while wearing armor and it hit for anywher ebetween 700-1200 not counting armor reduction, keep in mind its heavy armor piercing...


Vs. Jedi: again don't bother jedi block it 90% of the time.


Vs. Non-stacker: Didn't get a chance to test this(ran out of partical beam's hehe)


Acid Stream Launcher:


Vs. Stacker: this was a tad slower and a little less accurate, hit about 3/5 times to a stacker and did about the same damage (they had same % energy and acid defenses so damage could change based on what defenses the stacker has in their armor). But because it was slower the partical still had better dps for me. the acid streams were also speed sliced and do around 3000 some max.


Vs. Jedi: same thing don't bother blocks 90% of the time.


Vs non-stacker also didn't get a chance to test this.


I didn't get a chance to test out the lighting heavy weapon but the above might prove nice for you commando's....


Speaking of which during my testing i did use that snow cake food, the one i had is 29 filling +40 to accuracy and lasted about 23 minutes. Very nice to have for a commando i'd say.

It does ok, if they aren't fighting back. Throw that grenade at a jedi while he is attacking you or use that rocket launcher. It is a different story. Using a heavy weapon in PVP is suicide.

I have killed many players with my Flamer in PvP. It will kill may players in one hit (if it hits). I have solo'd a jedi player with a flamer before. 1 hit. But if you miss you will lose. Also like was mentioned, the particle cannon is very nice too. 1 shot per second hitting for 1k on average can waste a melee guy before he can get to you.



**Rebels outnumber the Imperials in a 2:1 ratio. How is this a rebellion and how does this make for a good PvP situation?**

Speaking as a former master weaponsmith and master commando.... I know for fact that all support heavy weapons (acid launcher, RL, HPBC, lightning beam) can be fired every second regardless of speed (and regardless of your speed modifier)..


I dunno if it's an explot... but if you just keep mashing the hotkey constantly for the support weapon you want to shoot and you ARE NOT holding any other weapon (i.e. flame thrower, pistol, etc), then it just keeps firing like a boom-stick of doom on speed every single second.


I bug reported it, but never got a response.

Commando sucks in pvp hardcore right now, If you said you killed people in one or two shots with any hvy/flamer specials you didnt pvp with real pvpers. Any real pvper has 80+ composite base stuff, that knocks almost any commando shot down to almost nothing. I used to pvp everyday all day long and i have all 85% base composite with 32% stun helm. I quiet cause commando sucks hardcore in pvp. Anyone who says otherwise is blowing wind up your arse.

With the same 75%+ composite with stun layers and some BE PvP food, a Master Commando can stand toe to toe with any other elite combat profession as long as his opponent has no medic skills (which isn't too common anymore though).


If you keep your opponent intimidated and connect with all 4 flame specials, our flameDoT can be very powerful. I've had brawler stackers kiting me after a couple flame specials.


If your opponent does have medic skills though... you'll probably need some help, lol.







well ill give this a go and see what happens , as for the pvp thing well fire dot when they stick tend to annoy peeps alot so it good when this happens , ans i resently saw a jedi get hit after intemidated by a flame thrower and and it did some nice damage to him , and as you said if you have good armour and food you can stand up to most things

Well like i said the one hit was on a jedi, i got a lucky hit and it peeled his health for like 2500 and gave him a 600 some health tick i mean it bout beat the crap out of him, as for the stacker i hit that didn't take 2 hits it took like 10-12 shots and 6 stuck..

Last time I PvPed...I was with my TKM friend...


She wasnt wearing composite...i had around 80% base....the guy had composite as well, and a fwg5 pistol...(or Dx2 forget)


Was a Master Pistoleer....no medical skills...dont know what else...


The TKM died before me (no armour lol...)...I got a good 15 FT shots off...nearly all of the connected (he just stood there).


I took a total of 700-1000 dmg off his 3.5k health....thats total, and most of it came from the DoT (around 300-500 wounds I think...)


Nevertheless...we both were tanks..and guess what? We stood toe to toe...but he wore me down....


The battle lasted like 6+ minutes just the two of us...he just STOOD there and wittled me down and I couldnt do diddly about it....


Edit: I also used both my FWG5 and LP against him too... as well as KDed him with my knucklers TWICE....

Did you connect with all 4 flamespecials? One DoT won't do it.


Get a fast flamethrower, snow cake, and cycle through our 4 flamespecials to make sure each DoT is on him. And make good use of your intimidate1.


I think Pistoleers have it worse than us in PvP. Something like 75% of their specials are broken or redundant. I really don't suggest picking up Pistoleerexcept for defenses. The only effective Pistoleer is a BH with a Geo or DoTpistol, and after armor even they have extremely low dps.
