Thread: Rocket Lanucher and Other Heavy Weapons

I'm a Imperial 2,2,4,1 Commando and I'm questioning about using rocket lanuchers and other weapons related to it (Lightning Beam Cannon, etc.). Are they good against turrets? Cause being a Imperial, I'll never face AT-ST's, and it now seems that AT-ST's can be taken down even with Rifles and Power Hammers. Are my rocket lanuchers effective against high armored foes? I know I would probably never use them in a duel, but in a Rebel vs. Imperial base battle, would a rocket hitting someone cause massive damage?

Against player characters with buffs and comp the rocket launcher just becomes useless. Maybe it would be good but even at master commando we miss a lot so even if you do like 500 damage it's not worth it. But in PvE rocket launchers are good but since they cost 30k or about 1k a rocket they aren't very cost effiecient.

The best (and only) way to properly use rocket launchers:

/target swoop

/launch rocket

*BOOM*

It's really cool to watch the rocket twist its way to the bike too...by far the most satisfying use.

edit: granted, it is funner when you use it on an AV-21 or a Flash Speeder

If a Jedi doesn't block it it does some nice damage. I was burning off some cheap rockets once and I found that if you slip one by the block you can surprise the crap out of a jedi.

Well for one thing on Rocket Launchers, check with the weaponsmith and see if they are using the Advanced Weapon Scope and the other advanced parts. If the weaponsmith is not then your getting a sub-par rocket launcher.

The Rocket Launchers I make on the Test Center, I personally put in the Advanced Blaster Power Handlers, Advanced Projectile Feed Mechs andAdvanced Weapon Scopes. The quality of the proton grenades don't affect the overall damage on the Launchers so they can be built with crap parts and resources.

But what has this done for Rocket Launchers you may ask? For me personally I see a lot more accuracy and a lot fewer misses, (usually no more than 2 misses out of 34 shots at master commando).

So speak to your local weaponsmith to make sure they are using all advanced parts in those weapons. It does seem to make a difference.

I've PvP'd with rockets and HPBC...they rock if you have some good ones. look for 40+ accuracy@ideal on rockets, 75+@ideal for the HPBC....don't fire em at moving targets though
