I'm playing a Twi'Lek and working my way up to Commando (don't laugh, Twi'lek is working better than expected and the chicks dig the tentacles) but I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for HAM stats. I currently have 1000/1000/850 for my HAM settings, but I think I am overlooking something here, especially with regards to stats like Strength and Willpower. Anyone have a template that is working decently for them?

Make friends with a doctor who buffs and stats just don't seem that important anymore.

That said.

Do you wear armor? Other stats matter then.

For me. My preference is, since I trained medic to use stims,

yes my secondaries are high, but using the specials associated with the flame thrower / har they require you to be close and because taking that much dmg being close is not an option i wear a full suit of composite. I highly recommend wearing armor ( we have no real defenses ) and altering your stats like that, you can always use a good stim b or two to fix yourself.

Btw I'm a human.

I think Ubese is the best armor for the average commando because it generally has the best resists to kinetic (melee) damage.

However I'm constantly fighting rebel npc's or rebels in general and about 75% of them use ranged weapons and ubese armor is not as good all around on stats as composite, all of my resists are over 30%

Ya without a doubt composite is the best overall armor, and it does give great resissts to blasters and such....it's also really hard to wear a full set of it though.

I guess the tradeoff is whether you want to be able to use weapons without depleting your HAM bars too quickly or whether you want to wear all armor pieces.

I do wear armor right now, but it's the Rebel Marine armor. I will eventually work my way to composite armor, but I am looking for some HAM templates that have worked for other people as far as wearing decent armor (doesn't have to be all the pieces-- I'm not wearing arm armor, for example), and also be able to use a flamethrower and a launcher pistol effectively.

And yeah, I do have some novice medic skills-- enough to stop bleeding.

That's pretty close to mine as well. I keep the regen stat maxed, the cost stat equal to the regen stat, and divide the rest evenly among the damage stats. I still can't wearmy full suit of Padded,tho - bothans bite.

i'm set up with 800 / 300 / 300 1000 / 300 / 300 1000 / 500 / 900.

Mind is King!

You can't Stim your mind...It is the only pool spesificly targeted in pvp.

Doctors can make your health and action bars invincible...not even counting armor.

I am considering lowering my action to 800 and bumping my regen stats another 100 each tho...In PVE laying on the ground unbuffed for 90 seconds gets kinda sad

These are rounded off, Im at work so i dont remember exactly on my 2ndaries. This has worked great for me with/without armor, and i usually wear full composite minus helmet, I like to be able to heal myself and regen mind after Im human by the way.
