Im currently a Master Smuggler with some Pistoleer skills looking for a different type of weapon. Since I already have unarmed IV, and Master Marksman, I would give the Launcher Pistola try. I now the FT suffers this penalty, but does the LP as well? It seems like it wouldnt being a pistol and not a big and bulky FT. I read an older post saying 'yes' the LP does have the 2.5 melee penalty. So just making sure and didnt misread anything before I waste combat xp. Thanks in advanced.

The launcher doesn't suffer the 2.5 penalty. Its an awesome pistol, I use a krayt enhanced one, 1.8s 100-510 damage with a good powerup. And you can use all those nice smuggler pistol specials with it too

LP does not suffer the "rifle 2.5x melee penalty" howerver it does suffer a minor penalty compaired to being unarmed (as a brawler).

I got the Launcher Pistol certification and I say wow. I love this gun. Alot of mobs and NPC's are vulnerable to Blast Damage which is wonderful. Great damage, but just one problem. I lags me and everyone around me to 1fps almost lol. It is crazy on how much explosions that happen when you shoot. I am sorry if im a dabbler, but i think most Commando's dont bother with this weapon anyways. Thanks for the information earlier.
