Maybe Im just dumb and missed this... but for example, if you have rifleman, your old pre-reqs were just the Rifles I-IV boxes, but in the CU they will be Rifles I-IV and Ranged Support I-IV. What if you dont have ranged support when the CU goes live? Do you lose rifleman?

You get a skill respec (respecifier) which you use to mess around with your template until you can fit it and/or are happy with it.

Yep!
Its called REBALANCING.
But you will have a chance to rework your toon.
Be careful you may only get one chance at changing your skills so you'd better get it right the first time.
I'm not certain about this but the info in the document is for COMBAT profs so you might not be able to include an SP you are using for the non combat profs.in the redistribution. SP yuo many have invested in -for instance- merchant may be locked out of the change.
You may not be able to drop merchant boxes to get the points needed to fill the additional line in brawler.

Is everyone going to be allowed to fully respec their toon? Well it seems like it, but take into consideration that, as of now, you can respec your combat skills only. So if your a politician/merchant/artisan you won't be able to respec those skills to combat ones. If all of your skills are in combat professions, then yes, you will be allowed to fully respec your toon.
On a side note, they are still thinking about how, if at all, Jedi will be able to respec.

If I'm not mistaken, they have stated that FS and jedi skills will not be included in the respec.
Basically, you will be able to change your toon like the jedi did after the jedi revamp, remember they had 1 shot at getting it right and if they messed up, they where SOL (barring some technical glitch, but I remember many a jedi having trouble getting CSR support even then)

If your damn is busted maybe you should get it tuned by a smuggler.
I have an opening in my retuning schedule at 10 a.m. EST on July 15th.

statement was the FS skills only would not be included.... with as much changes to the Jedi heal tree they have to allow them to respec.. don't matter though repec jedi will still turn a crunchy golden brown

Unfortunately, this also means that if you only have 1 combat profession as I do on some of my characters (Master Pike and Ranger for one), you'll have to drop some of your skills in the mastered profession to make up for the skills you need to keep it. So I'll be dropping novice Medic in order to take up Unarmed IV (still can't see why I need to fist fight to beat things with a stick) in order to avoid doing that.
