I am nearing novice and i am wondering what is the best gun i can use to get heavy weapons xp.

Launcher Pistol is your best bet until you get to Flamethrower 3. It'll really go quick if you have some Pistoleer skills.

they are enhanced by feed mechs, <-- better than nothing usually a dome a doen on bazaar, spider fangs, <-- decent Gorax bone shards <---- the best!

Launcher Pistol with some Smuggler or Pistoleer skills...got to flame4 with mine.
