Thread: Commandos Need Specials Here is why!

Master commando using marksman special on player with Plasma Flame. 171 damage. Master rifleman using plasma flame on commando with rifle special. 700 damage. Can someone explain why this is? We have no specials yet others can use their master skills specials with our weapons and do more damage. Thats just not right.

Meanwhile to use a high level rifle special with the Plasma Flamer...the rifleman would have to take up Master Commando...
ALL Commando weapons are certed to a commando skill box. It was in today's update, and displays both the CL and Skill box Requirement in the /examine window of the weapon.
By the way...are you using the basic range attack? As even charge shot (a pre-req special) does more damage than that with a rocket launcher...

Thank God. I see the update now. But why does our damage go so low in pvp when others can do so much? Unless that was fixed tonight too.

Mighteve been a bug...
Today's patch, we see the effect on weapon DPS'...
My M. Carbineer/M. Commando/4-0-04 Pistoleer (4 SP left over...which I could use for FS mods - looks like im cashing in on hunting =/) on TC-Ep3, with a Plasma FT does around 429.78 DPS.
Thats...pretty substantial
. I haven't tried out rifleman specials or BH specials, but it seems...some of the more potent specials that go well with commando is from carbineer and pistoleer (although theres some redundancy between the two, but pistoleer gives +40 more melee/range defense, 2 powerful unique attacks, and +10 general speed that adds an extra 15 or so DPS while the Carbineer gives a nice KD/powerful attack, several attacks that decrease accuracy/increase damage, and suppression). Crowd control fits very nicely with our AoE weapons (which btw, ALL hvy weapons are AoE...including the PR/LP)
Now...if you went TKM/MC, you'd be more powerful in defenses. Rifleman/MC, seems more of a sniper commando, where you're more withdrawn (probably wouldnt use your plasma FT much). A BH/Commando would be pretty kickass in one on one combat, but may not be as great against multiple targets. Carbineer compliments our role really nicely...and if taken (i think) would give you some powerful attacking measure =)

With the frogs giving up skills tonight i was able to play around with MBH/MC/Smuggler 2/0/2/0. I headed out to dant and came across a lonely fierce piket protector and was in some crafted BH Armor. I was surprised that the picket lasted so long(probably due to the fact that the darn thing was healing itself) but i took no damage what so ever. I was using a plasma FT. Then i pulled took my armor off and did the same thing. I lost a little bit of health but not enough to even worry about. Next i found a lair of Bols. Roughly same con level maybe about 2 levels differnce. There were 5 of them. I was able to take out all of them but they sure did alot of damage to me both w/ armor and without. So if you like to go 1 on 1 then i would say you ll have a good template in MBH/MC but if you plan on taking on more then 1 creature you better have some back up.
