Thread: Etiquette in the Commando Forums

Veteran Commandos, Aspiring Commandos and soon to be "CU" Commandos
Many speak of career identity these days.. players that are afraid of loosing what makes their career special and unique. This is reflected in all the careers, and perhaps even more so with Commandos. The old Commandos of SWG have held their Master Commando badges with pride, through hard times for the career, and changes to the old system. But one thing has stuck with me all this time, and that is the sence of pride, I have seldom met at Commando that I could not liease with.. be it Rebel or Imperial. For we hold a common ground, and that is our devotion to our career.
As our career (and all the rest) are about to get the largest workover for this games almost two year history the activity level on the Commando forums has been tenfolded. And the quality of the threads vary alot.. some are very good and in-depth, others are either a result of someones frustration or simple "spam".
These forums should only contain that first category, the productive and interesting ones.. We are an Elite Hybrid Career, the Special Forces of this Galaxy. Most of our Officers, Non-Commisioned Officers and Soldiers hold a high standard.. this is apart of what makes our identety.. this should also be reflected on these forums.
Suggested Forum Etiquette:

Before posting your question, search the forums. Your question might have been discussed, answered or resolved earlier. -
Create a concise subject that adequatly summarizes your topic. "For example : Suggested Commando template.." -
Also do not use words such as "Urgent" or "Important" in your subject line. This is a discussion forum, not a helpdesk. -
Do not use all capitol letters, excessive question marks (?) or exlamation points (!) in your Subject or content. -
Help Others, The forum is a community, and works best if people share information. -
Give feedback, if someone helps you by answering your question, try and add a follow-up response letting them know if it worked or not. -
Welcome newcomers, do not chastise them for not reading the forum etiquette. Make them feel welcome in the Commando Community.
Constructive posts and feedback are always interesting to read, and makes our community come to life. This thread is not meant as anything else than a suggested way forward. And Im sure the bigblue chiefs of our section likes to get the posts served somewhat in a orderly fashion, makes their job much easier aswell.
So as a fellow Soldier and Master Commando I call on your sence of duty and honor.. lets makes this work troops.

The commando forums the only place to see the toughest, dirtiest, rock hardiest(i know it isnt a wordbut it should be) men in the galaxy, get all cleaned up dressed up, and ready for a cocktail party.

We have always welcomed everyone and got along just fine. We have some who are a bit "wilder" and some who are very diplomatic. Though I agree your suggesstion are a noble cause, passion is what drives this forum and what brings out the best in all of us at the end....... though sometimes in the middle it gets rocky. I will continue to be who am I and that means lots of exclamation points at times, but I'm not changing who I am.

Adversity brings us together (like solider that went thru a battle) we in the the Brotherhood of Commandos share alot, been thru alot and did not get a kiss....
That has made us what we are no matter our Faction we share a common bond, andI for one am Proud to carry my Tag: Master Commando.

Well put, pride and passion are probably the two words that describe Commandos the best (well then there is pyromaniac, but that's another slighty more famous thread)

Well in the end we are all here to have fun ( I hope) so dont take it all 100% serious.I love reading some of the funny postings that are made on the forums, and we have one of the most living communities that are on the forums.
But sometimes we could need alittle thought before we post, but hey.. all rules are made to be broken.. and sometimes one needs to use !!! and capitol letters to make a point. Just hope then the post justifies it, and its not just a "spam" post hehe
