So well i log onto TC III this morning to check out the blue froggies .
I then pick up Pikeman .. It's ok i guess .. the i go for Commando ..
I must say i have never had as much fun in my life with one profession
I am seriously considering turning my Tank charachter into a commando ... why did you not tell me this profession was so much fun
Spent 1 and a half years playing this game and never realised how much fun commando can be ........ just the thrill of burning stuff

Yeah, since I have a master pikeman on live I put those skills on my TC char first. I've been thinking that commando would be fun to try, so I added that, and threw on master brawler also.
It seems like it could be a really fun way to go... The commando part can do a lot of damage, apply fire DOT, and add real nice area effects from grenades. If/when you get a whole lot of stuff mad at you, you can equip your pike and start spinnin'. In a group, you can be a damage dealer or a tank as the situation warrants.
The downside seems to be a lower damage output from the commando side since you wouldn't have high end ranged specials to enhance things. Shifting some things around could probably overcome this if you wanted more offense though.
And I agree, commando in the CU does seem like a good ol' time!

Popping in the forums a bit...but so far, Im actually enjoying PvP. It seems the recovery moves are a bit wonky (many times you're on your back for most of the fight if a smuggler template spams you with a crapload of state-effecting skills...but the thing is, you literally stay there - many times with each use of a KD recovery special you loose action, but nothing happens, and no msg saying you were still too disorientated to get up and then you get the cooldown)
Other than that, I give CU PvP two thumbs up. I actually was thinking strategically - like...ok, I got him rooted...what should I go with next? Flame DoT? Or beat him down with the RL since he's wearing assault armour. I wasn't just spamming a special and whittling his health down, but making decisions on the next course of action to win. And for that battle...I did win, till Soal bugged me with the mezzing specials and I couldnt get up

yeah exactly, in PvP it depends on what's happening. when i'm on my back, i'm thinking "as soon as i get up i'm hitting duelist stance then hiting him with a flame DoT"
or if we're both up, i'm shooting with underhand shot or blinding or sticking a DoT or throwing a grenade.
SO MANY OPTIONS! it's actually fun.

Exactly Ohetie! You're not thinking "Ok Click Flamesingle 2 and keep clicking", but rather what you just described.

Fun? lots of toys yes, but fun?
I was getting more impact out of my Smuggler's pistols than the Commando weapons. And whats with the massive waits between grenade throws?
I've been playing this 'upgrade' since it went beta and I haven't seen anything to change my 1st opinion - its really awful. We have cartoon effects that slow the client beyond belief, a level system that means changing profession will take months or years, slow combat, and the whole thing bores me to tears.
I'm glad some people enjoy it, but I can't help asking how long that euphoria will last.
