Gyp!! 
My 2.3 speed 500-890 damage flamer converted to a 3.1 speed 500'is to 950'ish flamethrower. Several less impressive "damage" flamethrowers cpnverted to having better stats.
BUT...my grenades are awesome. The ones in my inventory are okay...but the one's I pull out of crates have a speed of 1.0. =
That goves them a dps of over 1000 (for the thermals).
