Template sucks.

Reason:

No explor3 or even explor1.

If you don't think terrain nego is important than you haven't done much PvP. Even on flat surfaces there's a speed boost that helps a lot while keeping ppl either outside 16m, or moving inside 16m. Only suggestion for that is to pair up with a good Squad leader....i've got a CM buddy with no scouting (can't afford it in his build) and he HATES it apart from grouped with our SL. And he can throw poison for 40m np.

Also, nothing against the initial poster, but that's a very odd collection of skills. It's a unique build I suppose and you can use any number of weps, but many of those overlap in utility. At 64m you are probably better off with a fast 850 dmg FT than the t21.....at least in my exp. Seems like the plan would be to switch from t21, to carbine, to pistol, to FT. No sir...that's not going to happed in PvP. Also having only 1 in Heavy weps means you are going to miss incessantly....just forget heavy weps at 1.

You don't need TN to get out of or into 16m. You need suppressive fire which we all have already.I PvP all the time without TN. And having a small step in speed on flat ground does not give you an advantage unless you are running from a melee that is dumb enough not to have a ranged alternative.

I don't have explore 1 or 3 either, I'm not even a novice scout.

And I don't plan on ever wasting skill points on scouting again. It's really not that bad, although I can't go to dathomire, but all other planets are fine without the explore mods.

ps, if you go up hills in an angle, it doesn't really slow you down much, of course going in an angle is sometimes the wrong direction.

Please tell me that was a joke. You are saying his template sucks cause he can't run up hills as fast as you? Let's take a look. Explorer I is 15pts and 3 is 24pts.

So, he should give up all of his pistol defenses, fan shot and his knock down so he can run up a hill faster?

Or maybe you mean he should give up his flame thrower and ability to use heavy weapons to run up a hill faster?

Or is it that he should give up his mind shots and bleeds and more defense to run up a hill faster?

It is somthing like that right? Cause we all know that it is much better being able to run up hills then to have skills which can keep you alive longer or help you kill faster right?

I think the original poster is spread a little thin on his weapons, I would stick to the FT, heavy weapons and one other, but at least he is smart enough to use those extra pts to his advantage instead of wasting them on running up hill.

Oh yeah running up hills will be real usefull once creature mounts come in. Come on hill running is only usefull in wild areas and where does most pvp occur? Thats right, in the citys, where everyone likes to gather.

But guys with templates like this is why our PA put our imperial HQ in the middle of a buncha ditches near Bela Vista Most of our PA has terrain nego because our city is in an area that pretty much demands it (will be slightly less usefull when you don't have to leave bela vista to get there, but the mountains can be a very nasty obstical when you crawl up them instead of run) So we get a home terf advantage.

However creature mounts are comeing today or tomorrow (part of this big 3-part patch I heard) So whos the more fool? The fool or the fool that mocks him?

But he is sacrificeing a major advantage with lack of TN, movement is half the battle. Raiding PAs and HQs (which will always be in more wild areas) will be tough and I think I wouldn't go hunting with a party without TN because I don't like makeing a nussence of myself

You guys keep reading the post written by the long winded guy you think is an idiot.

The long winded idiot is going to play the game now. Enjoy.

Well whatever, if you guys want to hang around your cities waiting for others to show up that's your own thing, I rather enjoy finding my battles outside of them which is why terrain nego is extremely valuable.

Even on mostly flat terrain losing a step while chasing someone could be the difference between victory and defeat.

Being able to outrun someone is your advantage, being able to shoot me at all or cause any damage is mine

I love it when someone shoots me with their flame thrower and misses. I turn around, pull out my FT, game over.

Bobbi Soxx, you rule.

I once placed a very high value on the explore skills. So much so that I would never consider giving them up for any reason. However, at one point I decided to NOT mask my scent for a while and see how often I got aggroed...because it seemed to me I would be aggressed more often in a group of buds that rarely or never masked their own scents. I found that I was aggroed less often umasked...and even when close to higher level aggressives, it's likely the mask would break and i would be detected anyway, which makes the critters more prone to attacking - so I decided to abandon the use of that skill altogether. Unless you are a Master Scout or above, masking seems to be of little help really.

As far as Terrain Negotiation goes...really, I find the increased defenses of a more diversified professional palette to far outweigh anythingthat explorerterrain negotiation has to offer. I have found little difference in battle situations without it. Where does it make a difference to me? Well, going from point A to B with Explorers in the group can be a headache for them, as they have to wait for my slow arse to crest that last hill. That said, they aren't complaining when we get aggroed and I turn the juice on.

My template as of now (with points remaining):

Master Commando

Master Marksman

Novice Brawler 4 0 0 0

Teras Kasi Artist 0 0 0 1

Medic 2 0 4 0

Will master TK, reduce Medic low, shave Commando down to 0 0 4 0, and add a few other things hehe.
