Greeting SWG Community,

Here are some things I think need to be considered for Commando's

1) Terrain Negotiation- If you ever been in any Military Special Forces you know that the troops are trained on Terrain Negotiation, even if you dont have personal experience there are plenty of authentic movies that show this.

2) Cover and Concealment- We have none and stealth is a primary Factor in being in Special Forces ie Commando.

3) Satchel Charges and Demolitions- They took this away!!!! Why ??? This is another major thing special forces do. Its part of their Trade Mark along with modifying weapons to make them more effective.

4) Defense Modifiers- Basically non existent, Examine other Elite Combat Classes besides the neglected Carbineer, we get SQUAT like 5 melee, 5 range and 10 towards intimidate or something whooooo buddy. Look at the special defense for pistoleers they have a whole tree that gives 20 on each box towards special defenses, can you say FAVORTISM.

5) Damage- Yes, we have high damage capabilities if you go shot for shot. Now take into consideration weapon speed, They lowering pistol users so they can go as low as ,5, so now lets take lets say an hw weapon that does 1100 damage one shot in 4 seconds, now lets give pistols 200 which is very generous i get hit for average 250. Now 200 dmg every .5 seconds in 4 seconds a pistol will do 1600 dmg WOW thats 500 more than the hw weapon NICE BALANCING HUH. When i say HW weapons, I am referring to the Flame Thrower and Acid Rifles no specials which you have to be close to do which pistol classes dont.

6) Launcher Pistols- Why even have them they about the same as a scatter pistol and we never get any bonuses or specials with them past marksman bonuses. Either get rid of them or give us something in our tree to make it something special to have besides a cert at novice and nothing else.

7) Acid Rifles- I know this already been posted about but NO DOT or NO AP ok thank the DEV's

8) Master Commando- 10 to Grenades 10 to Rocket Launchers and Proton Grenade Certification WAHOO big reason to master huh guys and gals LOL. Again look at BH and Pistoleer Masters feel neglected ??? This is a case not just for commandos but for alot of other classes.

9) Your out hunting the dirty imps you see an AT ST you aim your Rocket Launcher and attack before he sees you BAM your Dead didnt even fire a shot hmmmm. This is just WRONG just because your weapon has an attack speed 5 to 7 it attacks you first even though you got the drop on him. This needs to be fixed PERIOD. If you get the drop on them you should get a shot of BEFORE RETALIATION!!!

These are just some ideas and feelings I have and would like some input from you all on them. I am a former Marine from 2ND MARDIV RECON.

Rev, while you make valid points, your premise is wrong (not that this is entirely your fault.)

The problem is, SOE was not thinking of modern commandos when they designed this profession. They were thinking of a character that would be a heavy weapons specialist and wanted to give it a cool sounding name.

Hey bro, First of all thanks for your comment. Now as a reply though you only addressed about 25 percent of my post with that remark. Your comment had nothing to do with DEFENSE<MASTER<LAUNCHER PISTOL<ACID RIFLE<REATALIATION EVEN BEFORE FIRING JUST BECAUSE YOU ATTACKED BUT NOT ACTUALLY HAVE YET. And they did have demolitions crafting abilities until taken out look at the 4th tree title ORDINANCE Manufacturer. Well thanks again for your response guys or gals as the case may be

ok look i am a Captain in the US Marine Corps and am (or was before my injury which sent me home) a squad leader of an Urban Combat division in Iraq. I know all about real life commando tactics and skills and SOE has done anything but stick to them which is fine because it is afterall just a game, dont worry your little head about it killer, just hope they fix the profession to a level where we commandos arent totally useless in game.
