Im sure this has been posted, plz dont flame, i tried the craptacular search engine. Ive seen it posted that grenades are only good for getting combat xp. Is this done thru using them on animals or lairs orwhat? Grenades are expensive and i dont want to waste them.

it's changed a little since they made a change to how bleed/DOT won't actually kill a creature anymore.

but basically to use the gernade tactic to get 100% combat exp from a kill do this:

go to rori... narmle works well, and look for the giant bunny critters. i think they're called levias squals or vir virs or something along those lines. the reason to pick this creature is because it's slow. it can be outran without even using burst run. ...using terrain(if you have scout terrain mods) you can easily keep 2-3 of these things at a safe distance.

the general philosophy to this tactic is to have the gernade do a tiny bit of damage and have the bleed kill the creature. problem is bleeds don't kill stuff anymore, so you have to either throw more gernades or gernade at the very end to kill it.

but, advance on a pack of the bunnies... stand at your weapons max range. 60+ m, and spam a bleed special. health shot I works well ...using pistols. ...spam it a bunch of times. ie fill up your combat queque with it. ...once you see the bleed icon on the creatures ham box, hit peace several times, and switch to your gernades. ....i think the gernade cert everyone has is C12 gernades. i mainly used glop gernades without a cert because i think they were the first AOE gernade. ...and the whole point is. even 1pt of damage is enough. as long as no damage comes from anything else.

the confusing thing is... is that people think a bleed is damage, it isn't. ...that's why i say spamm bleed, and then spam peace. ..you don't want lag, or any number or warping bugs or mistakes to cause you to pop off a normal pistol attack or unarmed attack or whatever.

so after you landed the bleed, and the creature's advancing towards you. toss gernades. ...watch the combat screen to see when it takes damage. once it takes damage. start running. i guess if you were buffed or whatever you could stand toe to toe with the thing and gernade it to death. but it's just as easy to run circles around 'em and reapply the bleed as needed.

..with the new change to bleeds. the creature won't be killed by the bleed. so watch it's HAM. wait untill the bleed has it really low. below 100 for sure, and i'd say even below 10-20pts of health ham(healthshot affects health... assuming you're using healthshot. watch health. carbine bleed does action, rifles..does mind. ...whatever floats your boat) toss more gernades untill it dies.

killing a creature using only gernades, and a bleed will result in pure combat exp for the kill. the vir vir/levias squals grant between 1-2k per kill. they normally spawn in groups of 2-4. ...after you're good doing this tactic with one bunny, it's not too terribly much more difficult to do it with 3 or 4. especially with AOE gernades. ...but on this i really recommend spamming the crapp out of your bleeds and peace. because if just one regular attack slips out. you're wasting your time. ..also, since they're so slow. don't get too far away from them. try to keep them within 40-50m. the bleed will make them continually agro on you. so just stay close. and pop another bleed on 'em if they seem to be thinking about returning to their spawn point. but they're pretty persistance bunnies. so this usually isn't a problem.

hope that helps. it's pretty simple. buy plenty of gernades, they can typically be found on the bazarre in larger cities... certain things drop them as loot i think. so the crappy C12 gernades show up there all the time. i think you can also put a power-up on a stack of gernades. so look into that.
