I just recently got Flame Cone 1. I am at the point now wher I need to decide whether or not to master Comando or just do the FlameThrower. By the way i dig the burn.It just seems to me from reading the forums, the grenades blow, Heavy Rocket Launcher are ok, the Acid Rifle is a green hornet rip off of the flame thrower. So if 3 out of the four fields are not readily used Should I even consider mastering. I am just asking for your help.

Thanks

You get enough out of the Commando profession by just going up the Flame Tree (it's sad to say that, but it's true)...

You should only go for Master if you like the profession over all and if you are holding out hope that we will see some fixes in the next few patches...All Master Commando gives you is a bit more accuracy to your FT, more accuracy to the Rocket Launcher, and more Melee Defense...besides giving you a cool title...

I really enjoy being a Master Commando...but I've also always wanted to be one....And I still have faith we we see improvements (although TH's announcement has shook my faith a bit)...

If you just want to use the Flame Thrower and the LP...don't go Master...Get the flame tree and dabble or master something else...

When I first started I was going to be a bounty hunter, then a commando saved myself and a few friends from a mountain squill, from that point on I was going to be a commando.

Fingers crossed for some changes in the near future. It comes down to what you enjoy at the end of the day, and the bonuses at master are nice if not astounding.

As for me, I'm a wook. Mastering gives another +25 melee defense. And since I can't wear armor, stacking defense mods is my only hope for now - especially since it seems 90% of thePVP'ers anymore are TKM's. The accuracy mod is also a boost with the flame, as I do miss less frequently. And, when you know you're only going to get one shot off on that AT-ST, every little bit of accuracy helps

Also, it doesn't take long to master at all.

Wookiee commando here also. I wanted to be a BH as well when I bought the game. Read through all the elite profs and loved how commando sounded. After I hit Master Marksmen it was on. After using heavies, LP's, and FT's for so long I recently tried a rifle to work towards novice. I can't do it. I feel naked with a little rifle, pistol or carbine in my hands.

Fingers crossed hoping for a fix and dropping to Melee classes half the time in PvP. I'm not dropping master for nothing.

close to mastering commando just need i dunno about 40k hw exp stupid server restart if your gonna dabble i say be smart and dabble with the ft line and the hw line this way you can use the rls with higher accuarcy at hw on big things like rancors and grauls that have heat resists(not all do but a lot do) shoot a bleed shot on the creature with the lp then fire off one or 2 rockets theres a good chance you can drop a creature to about half of its health befor it agros you but the plus side of being a master commando is you get a total of 7 dots 2 worthless when combined with the other 5 health shot 1 plus the every loving fs 1 and 2 dot and fc 1 and 2 dots and if you get novice pistoleer you can have 6 dots to place on the hame of the big creature/npcs cant beat that

I don't mean to thread hijack, but Bloodborn, I would love to know what skills you have. Cause if you have novice medic, pistoleer, or any other thread, but you don't then have EVERY skill box in that profession, you're a dabbler. The manual encourages dabbling, so why all the griefing for it? I am going for master, but I sure as hell don't use any weapon besides the FT and the LP. And the LP is only worth a **edit** because I am working toward master Pistoleer too. Either you have unused skillpoints, after mastering commando(and maybe 1 more profession), or you are the very thing you are speaking out against. I would love to know which is the truth.

Yes, I am going for master, unless the fire extinguisher completely kills us, and yes, I will be proud to have earned the title. But even with that, and master pistoleer, I will have a few points left over, for either medic, or more pistol skills in smuggler. I mean, it's that, or don't use them. But, I don't care if someone wants to dabble. It is their right, their skillpoints, and their toon. You seem to want cookie cutter characters, rather than mixing things up a bit, because if everyone had to master every profession they started, the possibilities would be really limited. Hell, why not argue that commandos, by definition, should be able to use all weapons, including melees, so we should be required to master brawler, instead of just "dabble" in it, learning unarmed. Then we could be the pure, no dabble, no variety game you seem to be advocating. It's bad enough when some TKA with 100+ defense does actually get burned, by a master or a dabbler, and because we broke through their defense mods, they cry nerf, but when one of our own does it, that is just nauseating. So, lets see your cards, bloodborn, and anyone else of the same opinion. I think, if you are claiming such purity, if you so vehemently disagree with dabbling, that you lead by example and show us that you have mastered every profession undertaken, and have extra skill points left, as it is not possible to use them all and have masteries in everything.
