Hi guys. After taking a year break from SWG I'm ready to delve back into the foray. Seeing as how most of my friends have left, I guess my template would be mainly PvE (although as a Rebel I'd do the occasional Rebel faction missions).

I still have my credits thankfully, and my token respec. I know w/out a doubt I want to stay Master Commando, but do any of you have suggestions for a complimentary profession to 'hold one's own'? I really think I'd like to team it with Master Smuggler, or even Master CH to have a pet tank.

So many things have changed, I'd appreciate any feedback you guys could offer. All I know is Master Commando has to be in the mix =)

Thanks in advance!

Rifleman is great for 1v1.

I fought a Commando/Carbineer yesterday. I started by wearing down his mind (forcing him to heal) with basic flamethrower damage attacks (Imp Head, Startle). After his mind was down by half, and mine still 100%. I pulled out my rifle, snared him with knee cap. I strategically retreated, got in 65m, sniper shotted him, got up, moved again. And when his mind was dead, I pulled out my lava cannon and finished him off.

It works well 1v1.

I'm reading a lot of Commandos are picking up Master Rifle. Is that for the specials? What does the 4000 CM give you?

I'm Commando/Pistoleer myself. More defense and paired with the Accuracy line out of carbineer I have both offense and defense. More moves to control your oponent as well. With Advanced Stopping shot, nothing leaves the cone.

As far as healing goes, I just have novice medic, +25 worth of healing Eff, gloves and a heal droid. Pop a little sno cake and I'm healing for 1750-1800 with minimal action cost.

I was Commando/Doctor and switched to Commando/Combat Medic.

So far so good but I was still further thinking of switching to Commando/BH with novice CM.

The 4000 in the Combat Medic line is the single 'heal' line (in combat medic) and having that gives you not only three heals to play around with (single, ranged and AE) but also some pretty good heal bonuses.

And having some sort of healing abilities appears to be almost mandatory if you want to have some sort of survivablity in the field.

Agreed. The (Comm / BH / NovCM) is the one I'm going for, too.

I currently have master commando/master smuggler/0430 carbines/novice pistoleer

Basically this a crowd control template. The specials from smuggler are fantastic for the crowd control and you have couple damaging attacks and loads of accuracy with the carbines part. On the other hand, you must rely on others for healing, but so far it works out well.
