See above list. How many combat classes do you see? Just 3. Smuggler/officer/spy/medic arent combat characters per say.

That means those die hard PVPrs will be

1) Jedi (this will be 80% of all server populations)

2)Commando

3)BH

In short, we have been pretty much shoved into one generic 'soldier' class. Due to our AOE (if that remains a commando feature) then its almost a certainty that most pvp not involving jedi will be commando vs commando blasting each other with aoe weaponry.

there will be no challenge really.. just aim in general direction click and POW POW POW. so much for that 'skill' word soe spews out.

Skill is using your brains not point and click. Even a monkey can be trained to do that.

Idisagreewith your statement for a few reasons. Jedi right now is technically a status symbol that syas your a veteren. Just about every one associates jedi with being uber leet and the alpha character class. because of its extra power from back in the day. at first every one will flock to jedi BH or commando then diverge off to the other character classes as they are expiramented with by players. Give it six months and every one will diversify out to whatever they prefer to play. once the NGE hits every combatent will be roughly equal in combat and all of class choices will be based on style.

i'm completely piss over this crap they have given, they even dare to call it an upgrade.

I think orbital bombardment, alone, is going to make a LOT of Officers... and the spies aren't too shabby either. I'm taking the wait and see approach.

I agree, but I think BH will be by far more popular than commando.

I find it odd that there wasnt a "guy with gun" profession such as "soldier." Commando is the closest standing profession to this, but when I think stormtrooper I think carbineer or rifleman, not commando.

If you look at professional titles, I think the Tier 2 commando one was flagged as soldier, so perhaps commando is intended to be the overall combat prof, while the title of commando reflects that at the peak of your skill (CL90), you're an elite soldier of the highest regard.

I agree with you, that jedi right now is some kind of status symbol and so.
However I'm not so sure about your conclusion.
The only way to respec after the respec period is over, is to delete. Not many will do that.
We're not getting a second slot on the server, so theres no way to make an alt without a second account.

So I don't think that many people will "respec" since it simply won't be possible from some point on. Not to mention new players won't get that respec.

Something to note about the respecs: You're supposed to get 10, but there's no time limit for when they have to be used. Should help exiting characters with that problem to some degree, though I really hope they open up multi-character servers, as most of the reasons they previously didn't use that are void now.
