Then log onto TC2 and check out the FS quests, during which you can build pretty much any character you want from scratch. This not only gives you the opportunity to see how you become FS, but it also lets you play around with templates with ease until you find the one that works best for you.

In other words, you can experiment with all sorts of screwy variants of commando and see how well they work.

I just saw this, and it actually sounds cool.

You can get these things FREE:

1. Any template (prefessions)

2. Money

3. Weapons

4. Armor

5. maybe other things . . .

Sounds good to me. Maybe I'll see some of you there!!!

Garvin, I'm guessing your in Austin by now. Hope all is going well.

Actually, I don't leave for Austin until 8/26...

As for TC2, there is much confusion going on there regarding JustG's post today...It appears it may have been capp'd meaing that no new people can join for now...apparently the current set up is causing way to much lag for the testers (they have everyone starting at the same location and then traveling to the same location...and that was over 2000 players...

But it sounds like on Monday all of TC2 will be wiped and restarted, so maybe they'll remove or increase the cap number...

When I tried TC2 a few nights ago I was able to create 3 characters (remember that on TC servers you can have up to 3 characters per account)...The Blue Frog (the TC Character terminal has been dubbed this) gives you pretty much everything you need in the way of skills, resources, deeds, armor, weapons, etc...

If any of you do get on over the next couple of days, try and catch me on there as Garvin or Iopah (if my accounts are still there, didn't check them last night)...I tried to get in early with a Smuggler character and sliced up a bunch of Commando weapons for us to use...If I still have the supplies (and my Smuggler is still alive) I can probably slice up the armor that the Frog will give you (85% base unsliced I hear)...

I won't be on till probably much later tonight...a friend just surprised me with Advanced Screening Tickets to AVP!!! YAY!!!

This is taken from the TC Community (one of their FAQs)...

In your Star Wars Galaxies install directory (for example, C:\Program Files\StarWarsGalaxies\) there is a program called Star Wars Galaxies Test. If you double-click this file, you will launch a special LaunchPad that will patch you to the Test Center version of the game. You will then be able to log into the Test Center server.

To play the regular game, you will need to launch the normal way, via the shortcut on your desktop or the Start Menu. It will patch you back to the regular version of the game.

Please note that you cannot use the regular version to play on Test Center, and you cannot use the Test Center version to play on the regular game.

A Key thing you NEED to know is that once the Test version of SWG is fully installed on yoru computer (when it Launches) it will download a ton of files...DO NOT play right after that or it will crash...DO a FULL SCAN before playing...

It took me awhile the first time I tried to play on TC to figure out why it kept crashing...then I actually went to the TC forum and saw this advice...haven't had a problem since...

The big thing you have to remember when playing on TC or TC2 is that nothing is guarenteed...if they add or remove something it doesn't mean it will ever see the Live Servers...and if a /bug causes you issues or causes you to lose something, you probably won't get it back...this is a Test Server after all...

The Blue Frog (the TC Character terminal has been dubbed this)

Blue Frog? It was only called "The Frog" and everyone was bowing to it and worshipping it when we all "accidently found it" a while ago... When did Blue get added to its name?

Escia said it looked if everyone was watching TV heh....

I tested a stack this morning, (much thanks to the frog)

master pistoleer, master commando, carbineer 0040

in conjunction with the launcher pistol, which can use all the pistoleer skills, it really makes quite a bang. then i had a guy slice it for me, and i really started doing some serious damage. its somewhat less than i used to get from a flame thrower shot, but the speed is so quick, im inclined to believe it would do more damage in the long run.

anyone else out there on TC2, try it out and see what you think.

Actually, a scoped & barelled SR Combat Pistol looks pretty vicous. You also can't go wrong with a blacked, scoped DL44... Han's little baby.

I've tried everything but the carbineer part on live, and I liked it myself (so much in fact, that pistoleer is the only profession I've mastered that I haven't dropped at some point.)

Sure, it's not as good as rifleman right now, but it helps makeyou a bit more distinctive of a character. Saying that, I know you out-damage the FT with pretty much any decent pistol out there (AP 1 pistol anyways.) Stopping shot every second or so does tons more damage per second, hitting 1-2k for nearly every shot. At the very least I'd say it equals FT damage, but the options of damage tyes and ability to use specials at 64m makes it overall a more attractive option.

P.S. The LP is probably the coolest pistol in the game aside from the DE-10. Nothing else shakes the entire screen (well, aside from standard FT shots) and makes quite as big an explosion. Fanshot with the LP is pure bliss.
