Tactical Skills are something that would make our class different from all of the other combat classes out there, and something I would love to see added to our profession. So without any further ado, here is what i was thinking would be some cool abilities for Commandos to have.
Combat Mobility: A skill that adds Terrain Negotation and increases our run speed. We could travel at healf the speed of Burst Run but it could last for 5 minutes and then have a 15 minute recycle time. It could also add +30 Terrain Negotiation. This skill would allow us to get our of range of melee oppenents if we are getting pounded up close and close the gap quicklyif we are being sniped fromlong range.We could still be caught by someone using Burst Run but since we are highly trainedmilitary personel I think we should be able to move in combat with ease and speed.
Smoke Screen:The abilityto throw a smoke grenade that would block the line of sight between your target and yourself. The smoke grenade would landdireclty inbetween thetarget and yourself. If you are being snipedfrom range you are given a moment to plan your next move as your target must run through the smoke screen to resume his attack. It would make it possible to have a strategic withdraw by throwing several smoke screens as you continue to retreat. You could alsouse the delayto bring your target intoideal range for using a rocket/grenade/flame special.
I could see somepeople exploiting the smoke screen so it may be hard to code in. Things like just hiding inside the smoke screen so no one can attack you andpopping out for a few seconds toshoot then retreating back into the smoke screen. Maybe the smoke screen could belong and narrow, like a wall of smoke,as opposed to a large cloud of smoke.
Well these are some of the ideas I came up with, tell me what you think and please put down any tactical abilities you can think of thatwouldfit well into the Commando Profession. If people like these ideas maybe Garvin can see what the devs think when he goes to visit them.
