Thread: Extra tiers on Elite professions

Im just taking from other people's ideas, so im not taking any credit for this.

Some of you have talked about their being an extra step to elite professions - something to reach for after you have mastered a profession. Basically i have a idea for this. LIke having 4 tier's - or boxes - right after another. Each box would get progressifly stronger but more tasking on a person.

Like in the Commando profession

Master Commando -> Master Commando II -> Master Commando III -> Master Commando IV -> Master Commando V

I was thinking of this maybe each box taking lot of extra skill points - up till the final commando box maybe takes up 20 sp's - to give a choice to people to either be a total master in that profession or dabble in other professions.

And each tier would require multiple kinds of experience from that profession.

For examble Master Commando II would require 900k of Heavy weapons experience and 300k of combat experience and would use 8 sp

Master Commando III would require 1.25 million Heavy Weapons Experience and 450k of combat experience and 10 sp

Master Commando IV would require 2.5 million Heavy Weapons Experience and 600k combat experience and 15 sp

Master Commando V would require 5 million Heavy Weapons Experience and 1.2 million combat experience.

All these number are not to be exact and everything, but people would get the picture that it would take a person a while to get to the final master level.

My idea is that every elite profession have this system of tier's to give them more to inspire towards to.

Crafting tier's could maybe give +5 experimtation to their respected fields so they could become 12pt crafter's.

Meleee could maybe get a high ham cost yet incrediably powerful move that has a timer on it for the last tier.

Ranged could get a cert for a brand new weapon or of the such.

Im just throwing ideas here, but most of you can get a idea of what im thinking.

I like it, i've replied to ideas about Mandolorian Warriors and such. Some people would feel that having the extra tiers after Mastering a profession. I personally like it, just like I had previously liked the Mandolorian Warrior posts, we need something else to keep us in the game and interested. If I could put all my Skill Points into Commando I would. Master Commando V should be exteremly tough to get, perhaps even quest based, I like your idea man. There are so many ways to implement such a concept. Not everyone want's to be FS or a Jedi.

I would like to see something like this being implemented. Gives us a lot more to "fight" for since leveling a profession is very, very easy.

Yea, and basically each profession would get this system of tiers. And each tier would require every single kind of experience in that profession. For example, in the MBH, you would need to get carbines experience, pistols experience, LLC exprience, and investigation exprerience. This would make hybrid professions the hardest to get but in the end the most rewarding.

My first post wasn't complete. I had started saying "Some people would feel that having the extra tiers after Mastering a profession" then I want in a new direction. Anyways! as I was saying. Some people will feel that his is "to much, overpowered" and say things such as "you cannot stand toe to toe with Jedi" this is true. But what's going to happen when everybody and their Uncle is FS and/or grinding towards to Jedi. The game needs some profession concept that will draw people to the class they know and love and still be able to compete with those who are following the path to FS.
