Thread: A Comandos Unique Group role
I am a commando, and I use a carbine.
In every questionaire about the CU, I replied "1" to the question: "do you feel like your profession has a unique role in your group?"
With 1 being the lowest, as in "heck no!".
Sadly, they never asked me what profession I am/was.
I'm a commando with a carbine. Fearing to use his own weapons. Knowing that weak guns gets me killed, no matter built in special. Dying to feel like a commando again.
The truest sadness is that many of these issues, which are not just cries for tweaks and improvements, but REPAIRS (not temporary or minor fixes, but REPAIRS for the long-term survival of commando as a profession) were identified before cu was even thought of (such as the low damage, difficult craftability of rocket launchers) or were bugged by us in beta. The commando community is strong, patient, creative, attentive, patient, willing to help when it comes to getting the help we need, but when? Starnick has a very difficult job. I believe he has truly done everything he can. We know we have Helios working on it, but we (correct me if I'm wrong) have seen 12 instances of server downtime where logging in following the downtime has required code to be downloaded since the CU. I don't care if the fix isn't tomorrow, or wednesday, or even this week or the week after, but I believe we deserve a timetable on when we can expect issues with our CORE SYSTEMS and ROLE DEFINITION to be given the attention they deserve. I think the commando community deserves much respect for the way we have offered solution after solution to any problem we have instead of just whining about it. I know commandos hit CURB beta pretty hard and bugged a lot of these issues, but they still exist. When can we get the help we desperately need and I feel, badly deserve?

If your a Commando/Smuggler youll find the mass agro problem easy to manage. As a Master Smuggler/Commando I simply hit Concussion shot with my Lightning Cannon and root just about everything around. If they have ranged skills Panic Shot from Smuggler and Intimidate from Pistoleer means they do a lot less dmg while the rest of the group gets up to speed to do their do. I cant say I have suffered the mass agro thing ever being a problem but it also makes it obvious that Commando isnt a proffesion on its own more a "bolt on" to a main profession.

Empasis on that last one there. We ARE their testers basically since they dumped a beta on us. So yeah.. where's my damn paycheck? And why the____ am I paying to test their product before it's really ready? Some one a while back said the EULA stated they'd never do that kinda thing to us. But that seems to be all they've done with the CU. And as I understand have doen since the launch of the game.

Borked, and still not fixed nearly a month after CU, when most of the issues in commando were bugged in beta. I'm glad commandos worked hard in beta to get the shaft while SOE goes on vacation with our profession not working. Maybe they should pay their testers?
