What is simply the fastest way to bolt through the Marksman/unarmed tree to reach Novice commando...in your opinion.

Call me a glutton for punishment.

Jaxx Lairs on Endor!

Um, nevermind.

Just get into a good group of 6 or so that don't lolly-gag around and go sweep the plains of every doable mob spawn you run across. Keep em moving. Go Go Go! Kill Kill Kill!

Oh, and be sure you use Vibro Knuckler for Unarmed. They hit hard and you'll zoom through the Unarmed line very fast.

Also upgrade to a better weapon each time you advance in Rifle, Carbine and Pistol. Keep your damage as high as possible.

Well in my opinion that is the easy part, the 40k combat xp is the tricky bit, but to answer your question, my favourite tactic now (after I learnt the hard way lol), is to train one weapon first to specialist possibly Pistol and get the relevent Bleed shot in pistols case Health shot 1, then start with the bleed and switch to the weapon you want to train and run like hell from the mob i.e something like a Fambaa on Naboo. Easy and quick XP, but make sure you have burst run in your hotkey bar, as for unarmed just get a decent set of Vibroknuckles and your laughing.

Getting through Marksman is not tough...I did it in the first week of release....master marksman on Day 7 hehe....

The 40k Combat Xp was a pain in the butt though....especially since I did it TWICE. The first time took me a week alone....I trained commando, then after surrendering novice Medic, my novice commando skills also disappeared So I had to grind out the 40k combat xp again.

I went to Rori and solo'd leviasqualls and Shallow tortons. If you have a probot pet or any other pet for that matter, be sure to group with it and use it too as it will speed up your xp with a group bonus.

Leviasqualls are the absolute best xp in the game...on average I would get 1300-1600 pistol xp, 130-160 combat xp, and 130+ scout xp per kill. Yes there are mobs out there that give higher numbers but they take alot longer to kill and require more people or skill. Leviasqualls are not hard and don't take me more than 20 minutes to take out an entire lair (10-20 mobs) and they ALL yield the type of xp listed above...

I highly recommend them...much better than the old Jax way too

Oh forgot to mention that by killing the leviasqualls it took me all of two days to grind out the 40k combat xp...granted I did some SERIOUS power gaming (was real pissed about losing commando the first time)

Oikaleek,

Couple of quick questions for you:

Where are leviasqualls located on Rori?

How difficult are they to kill (what's a good strategy)?

Can you point me to a good FAQ about combat driods (would like to try one)?

Thanks!

Sorry it took so long to respond

Kiting Leviasqualls ( ie. aggrivate several and kill them one at a time) is what I do. They are slower than you when you run around.

I use a pistol since I am a pistoleer (FWG5 or Launcher pistol)

They can be found all over rori, but my best luck has been close to Narmle.

If you bring up your map look SE of Narmle and there is a small mountainous region that looks grey/blackish on the map. I usually go there and find many Leviasquall lairs to work on.

I can't help you with a droid...I don't have one to give any details

hope this helps
