i dont know aboutyou but sofar commando's are completly lame. the only thing they have going for them is flame DOT. even that is kinda so-so cause you gotta live for it to be effective.

everything else in the commando profession is rather crappy.

No, you are correct...and this is about to be made worse by the fact that TH is nerfing the flame dot to make it (1) resisted by armor, and (2) easily put out by fire extinguishers.

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

Actually one clarification on the Flame DOT.. currently, if there's no water around, it's a guaranteed kill. For instance, if you seta guy on fire on Tat, chances are he's not gonna' be able to find any water. Even if he kills you immediately afterward, he is effectively dead... the flame DOT will either 1) give him massive wounds so you can't even see his healthbar, assuming he tries to heal himself, or 2) instantly incap him.

After the first incap, the person will get up.. and get incapped again. After that incap, the person will get up... get incapped, and die.

So, all you need to do is flame someone and you're guaranteed a kill, regardless of whether you live or not. That actually doesn't sound too bad to me, but who am I to talk? I'm not a Commando...

2 major problems with the rationale:

(1) What if that person is on any other planet that is covered in water? Without the dot, commando's damage output over time is far less than other classes (because of the huge delay), even though those classes spend less than half the skill points that commando do. If a commando's target is anywhere near water, the only guaranteed kill is the commando. These regional arguments swing both ways, and all suck.

(2) The dot is going to be substantially nerfed to be resisted by armor, and will no longer be as devastating as it once was. So should it ALSO be really easy to put out just because there is one planet without water? Doesn't that just nerf commandos only weapon (remember commando damage output is worse than other classes) to the point of being worthless?

This is why nerfherders should not be able to discuss this issue with the devs...without playing a commando, you have no idea about the HUGE weaknesses that are already present in the class.

If you thought commando was bad off atm

you shouldve been here

when

we couldnt even level since A) our lp gave pistol xp and B) our hvy weapons were pea shooters, doing 30 dmg (the enemy HEALED faster than the damage..Hell, our HAM drained faster...lol)

and that lasted for two months from launch to early/late september/august

yay i didnt get flamed! but yeah i noticed that even rocket launchers which is what is suppose to be the at-st/turret killers are not that good either. i have a better chance dodging the blasts and beating a at-st down with my gad stick then i do shooting a rocket at one and doing significant dmg to it. the only way i can do dmg to one is fire, which makes sense to me not.

the whole commando classes power is how fast the fire dot tics and for how much damage it tics for. and they shoved all of that into one branch.

once i finish master commando for holo i'm gonna almost instantly drop it all besides flame4. this profession has a ton of fookin potential but in reality sucks hardcore.

ah but it gets better, they're removing the stacking flame DOTs. . .so no more multiple burns:

Also, BS on 1 burn one kill. If the oppononet is buffed and has minor medic skills they can out last your burn (since the wounds only apply to their actual health stat). Now you get an unarmored noob with no buffs, sure, land 1 burn and they're toast. . .otherwise your have to attack the health pool and all a person has to do is eat a muon, maybe some fishnack a touch of glucose pate and they can heal all the damage that your doing to them and take you out before you can wait for your 3.1 speed FT to chuck another blob of flame. If they have armor, your in even worse shape.

The only class that stand a good chance in PVP are those that hit the mind pool.
