This guide pretty much stopped me just chucking the game in the bin after I got told "do Master Commando" by the big deep voices. I'm a crafter, I actually LIKE tinkering, making stuff, selling it on. I'm happy as a happy thing on happy pills, sitting on the front stoop of my house, churning out things that I know people will make use of.

For a diversion I'll go to the cantina in Espa, listen to the uber grunters waffling away about killing this, flaming that, knocking this base out or whatever. Meanwhile I 'll dance away, tootle on my flute or pick up and drop orders.

So.

The long slow grind up to NOVICE commando was mortal agony for me. I've had to unlearn a shedload of things that I liked being able to do and, seeing the rent on my house and shop shoot up again after having to carve into my merchants bonuses really sucked.

But, Ivonii's totally awesome guide, with good common sense advice, comments on weapons and tactics, really turned my head around. I've been running destroy missions, Imp, Reb, hey, I really don't care, whatever comes out of the terminals. I'm picking up loot. I'm having a laugh and I've also managed to get Master Scout just from taking novice scout and using that as my low level combat. (OK, haven't got Scout YET, will have to spend a couple of hours camping here and there, lol)

Many thanks Ivonii. And for the few folk who are whinging about one or two supposed inaccuracies, hey, you've got the template here, go write a BETTER one.

Is this true, that there is a cap on Bio-Clothing at +25 and that using say four +10 Hvy Weap Speed tapes on different armor would be a waste of money? I ask because I spent 2.5 Mill on a +13 Hvy Weap speed tape and it does not seem like it makes my flame thrower fire any faster than if I'm not wearing the armor. I had heard something along the lines that the Hvy Weapon skill tapes were nerfed and that there is supposedly actual FlameThrower speed and Accuracy tapes out there now but I've never seen one for sale anywhere or on the trading forums. I also read something that the Hvy Weap skill tapes may not apply to all Heavy Weapons, which if this is true then how would someone know which Hvy weapon (FlameThrower, Acid Rifle or Rocket Launcher) the tape would be useful for.

If anyone has any idea which of these rumors may be true, please let me know since I am completely clueless as to why my +13 Hvy Weap speed tape does not seem to work!

Thanks for your guide. I don't have the patience to read the whole thing, but I do realize the effort that must have gone into that.

Wow a really great guide. Best Ive ever seen. Wait this is the only commando guide ive seen. lol

Im going to be a commando and this really helps. I already am a novice pistoleer and still needing the 20k more combat xp before I can finally be a novice commando. How good are commandos against faction based NPC like storm troopers and rebels.

Ok i read the whole guide and man it is good. But what about the unarmed part of commando.

After i made unarmed 4 i used my unarmed to gain combat XP for commando because of combat xp i already from other things, when i got novice TK i also got novice commando.

My plan is to use the combat XP from my commando wepons to go up the defense part of the TK tree because, well they got great defenses.

i was curious about your thoughts on going tkm/commando master.

thanks.

I find that flame 4 works best on mobs...after you reach Master, the mods kick in, (as well as any skill tapes you wear), make you a very formidable NPC killer. I now solo anchient Rancors, and have defeated 6, yes 6 Droidekkas at once as they swarmed me. All my hunting partner could say as a Bounty Hunter was "Good God !!!" Take advantage of rockets when you can, as they do the most damage at ranged targets, and slice your acid rifle and flamer as soon as you can...Best of luck to you, and Happy Hunting!!!

awesome guide!

I am just finishing my punching tonight-it so much easier then people think it is, as is Master Marksman.

But going up the elite class is where I needed the tips. Thank you so much for taking the time. I have heard its outdate but oh well, it still rocks!

As a new member to SWG let me just say that people like Ivoni really do make it a lot easier for us to find our way, for some reason I am always dreaming about becoming a Commando, and when I read your guide I couldnt wait to fire up SWG and start killing everything that moved.....

Again thanks.....
