Thread: NERF COMMANDOS!!!!!
Yes your right a military grade heavy weapon should do the same damage as a pistol...makes perfect sense.Caps for the reading challenged : IT WILL ONLY ONE SHOT YOU IF YOU ARE WITHIN16M and they hit..also it does more damage if you are stupid enough to run around without armor.Funny the no one hits in PvP people forget most AT/ST shots will kill you in one hit.
I hate to break it to you but I use a pistol in PvP.Why you ask..because stopping shot(and fan shot)works at long range, does better damage reliably, has no cool down timer, have a pistol that does stun damage, and doesn't scream shoot me first. If I see an AT/ST or a target of opportunity(i.e. idiots who cluster together begging to die,who let me get close) I pull out the flamethrower. It is called tactics..here are 5 credits... buy some.

An objective view (unlike many of your self serving views).
Fairness
1) If Imperials can have AT-ST's then REbels should be able to take them out.
2) The rebels should spend equal time-value to take one out as an Imperial uses to get one.
Fair Solution
AT-ST takes about 20hrs of grinding. Commandos should be able to buy a rocket launcher or heavy gun with the 3790ish damage stats for the same 20hrs worth of faction points.
Note if you flame back that someone can exploit and get an AT in 2hrs, then very well. Rebels could do the same.
Hmm.. fairness. Let's take a look at these numbers.
You state that in 20 hours of FP grinding, you can get an AT-ST. Yep.. anyone can. Artisans, entertainers, tailors. They don't discriminate based on profession.
But Commandos require 10X that much just to get to novice, with wasted experience, useless requirements and basically starting out with the same mods as a novice marksman. That's just to get certified for the weapons. Actually getting up to the point where you can be effective can take twice as long.
So. You spend 20 hours doing delivery missions, I spend 200 hours getting shot at and beat on. Does that seem fair?
Ooo... I do smell a challenge, gonna see about having some fun with this one without wasting too much of my valuable time.
Actually you can take out a tank with a flamethrower. The oil and greese on the treads makes for excellent burning fuel. There are cracks everywhere and the armor happens to be explosive (on the M1-A1 anyway) if your too stupid to understand why explosive armor is a good thing on a tank then I won't waste my time answearing. My point is the armor being explosive a flamethrower can ignite the explosive plates and cause the armor to get halved instantly, heat and the ammo inside would do the rest. All of this is provided the guys inside are smart enough to not open the hatch and use the machine gun thats on top (this would result in personnel getting toasted in person) The over all point is this. A flamethrower and render a tank disabled. A flamethrower can render a AT-ST disabled. This does NOT mean destroyed. This means it can't move or attack seeing as its treads and ammo is destroyed (the M1 A1 has armored door inside preventing explodeing ammo from killing the personnel, aswell as ports above the ammo storage that can be blasted off if the ammo does explode)
Now lets consider that the AT-ST is actually a scout vehicle. Not a tank. This means we should be takeing our real life flamethrower and pitting it against a humvee or similar lightly armored scout vehicle. Need I go on?
And before you idiots say explosive armor just proved to be the downfall of our pretend tank keep in mind flamethrowers have been obsolete since shortly after world war 2 and anti-tank missles are a bigger threat then flamethrowers, this is where explosive armor helps. Again if your too stupid to understand why I won't waste time explaining.
alright, lets be relistic. how do you fit an ATST into your backpack? Not at any point in the Star Wars saga do I ever recall all imperials with an ATST following behind. In fact, ATST should be unattainable to every imperial in the game. On those who are generals should even have the option of calling them. However, that's not the way the game is and you'll just have to live with metal burning
