Yeah, but when you can stock Hvy Acid Rifles (HARs) or Heavy Particle Beam Cannons (HPBCs) that are the same or within 10 levels of a weapon like the RL - and take a WHOLE lot less time/resources to craft...why bother? Pre-CU some of the required components made sense, but now a lot of weapons that were previously used quite a bit no longer are a CL 50/CL 54 that would be useful to a mastered profession, and therefore are not really practical to craft since most likely theres A) A better master level weapon thats easier to craft or B) For new folks, weapons that are low level, and are much easier to craft than weapons that were prevoiusly used frequently and required extra components. Because of the new cert placements and how CL regulates the power of weapons, some of the schematics in my opinion got screwed over as a result.

So you're getting less bang for your buck compared to a Plasma FT or a LBC....both a ws and a commando issue.

The reason to stock the lower lvl weapons isn't for the masters of the respective classes but for the ones who are grinding out the various classes since they may not be lvl 54 when they are trying to grind out there new class.





True, but how should they be priced? They do take more resources, should they cost more than a lvl 54 Vibro Lance.

Should a HC Scatter and Regular scatter cost the same? The only difference is the regulr takes a blaster pistol barrel.

Yep, how some of the new schematics are now its convoluted. My LBC may cost 20k, and Ill use it just as much as my PFT because its *almost* similar in damage - but also electrical elemental AND longer range. But if I wanted an RL, the same weaponsmith may charge 35k and it'll be significantly weaker compared to my LBC - the only positive side (aesthetics aside) would be the innate KD, which I can easily pick up from carbineer and apply it with my LBC...AND have it more effective (our RL's KD doesn't seem as effective...yet another issue).

It simply does not make sense having lower level weapons requiring more time/resources than higher level weapons...its very much like a risk vs reward situation that plagues certain quests or mobs.

Agreed. The RL is rather problematic in this respect. For the difficulty in making, and just coolness factor, it really shouldn't be such a low-level weapon. The only master-level weapon Commandos have is the PFT--I'm not counting protons. A number of other professions such as SL, BH, and P get several.

Commandos definitely aren't living up the the dev's promise of "Offense 5". I'd really like to see them change this to a master-level weapon. That would at least give WS some justification in building them since they'd be an essential Commando tool.

Now if they'd only fixe AoE and bump up the damage....

Bro, now that is the question of the CU. The way I am starting to look at it is sense SOE chose to balance the game by basicly making the same level of weapon approximatly the same DPS, before any enhancements then I am going to give a pricing schedual for all my weapons based on the final DPS.If this system doesnt work then I'll step back and punt. Like I have said I am going to give the CU 3 months before I finally decide rather I'm going to continue to play SWG or not.

Because of the cost of making the RL and there level/dmg ill probably not make any.

"Not really, RLs have a AoE knockdown I believe, I coul dbe wrong but I though I read that somewhere."

All of our weapons do AoE, and the RL can do an Area KD - but its also a CL 22 weapon and although atm our AoE is totally borked, I got a feeling we may be seeing 50% splash damage to secondary targets (its been reported that at server reset folks are getting 50% aoe splash damage). The AoE KD is nice...but price, difficulty of crafting, damage, and the fact that the KD doesn't stick or last as long as KDs from specials (such as Charge Shot)...the CL 22 RL is of little worth.

Now that can be changed if the 5 proton grenade requirements per, was changed to loaders or handlers. Especially since I hear theres a Cl 54 (or close to it) rocket launcher thats looted off the spider boss at the weabweaver caverns on Kashyyyk...

Would be nice if we coudl make comparable stuff to all this new quest/loot. Pretty soon its going to get pretty old quickly when asked "Can you make me something better than XXXXX from Kashyyyk?"

Yeah, tell me about it. Unfortunately (although fortunately for WS...well, sorta) with that CL 40 Rocket Launcher, it seems MWS' can make better...I saw the stats on it and it sucks, majorly. Back to square one in advocating an advanced LP/RL for commandoes =/...
