Not so-subtle hint: Don't step down. Pretty please, with a rocket launcher on top?

Although I gave up commando a time ago to pursue my first true love of this game since prior to launch Starship crafting. Now I've been there and done that. and slowly working my way to master pilot to craft myself some good ships and weapons. Once there I plan to return to the commando with a passion that was there while I was flaming things into cinders the first time.

Without holo grinding I have tried a great many professions, and have visited the forum boards for everyone of them to decide the best way to do the professions and get players imputs. I will admit completely and truthfuly that Garvin you are the best correspondant that I have seen of any profession. You keep the community informed, you take our suggestions and gripes to the masses and get us answers (even if all those answers sounded like "wait till CU").

From what I can tell you have done an excellent job and will be truely missed as our correspondant. I am glad to know that you will still be here as a voice for us and will continue to assist the new person that will try and fill your shoes. I feel for that poor soul and hope that they are prepared for what awaits them.

To My Commando Brothers, Sisters and other Community Members,

It is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement, but I have decided to step down as the Commando Correspondent. It has been a great run and I have enjoyed my time immensely being the Correspondent of such an outstanding community. The passion, pride and dedication you all have shown is something to be envied by others and something I know will live on past my time. When I first became your Correspondent I told you all I wouldn't take the position unless you all helped me...and you ALL have more then fulfilled your end of the deal as I know you will continue to do for the next Commando Correspondent.

I want you all to know that I am not making this decision based on anything against SOE, their decisions or disagreements. Just the opposite, I still feel great things are coming to Commandos with the CU and beyond and I'm still impressed with many of the committed changes the SOE team has made lately in listening to the player base (as well as the cool changes to come). I just feel that the time is good to pass the torch on to another. Down the road I even hope to someday return as your Correspondent (if you'll still have me) after others have served their time fully. Part of being a Correspondent is letting others have a chance to experience the honor.

Some of you may feel like this is a bad time or a loss for our community. I disagree. I see my stepping down as a good thing. I will still remain actively involved as a "Blue Glowie"…I will still have an active place in the CU as a tester (who doesn't take up one of our Sandbox Slots)…And I will still have access to all the same forums I currently have…so really, this won't change much, except I won't be leading you. Another great benefit from me stepping down is that it will open Commando Sandbox slot (which will be up to the new Correspondent to choose how they see fit…but I'll make some recommendations of course). This will bring our AlphaTeam up to 5 testers, 1 Correspondent and 2 Blue Glowies...not to shabby...

If I had any regrets, it's that I'm leaving without seeing many of the changes we have been working for come live, but the good news is that many of them are slated for the Combat Upgrade.

So please…do not look upon this a bad thing or a blow to our community. There are many of great community members who I know could easily make a great new Commando Correspondent. During my time as your Correspondent I have been proud to brag that I have the best community out there and everyday you all prove me right.

When it's all said and done, I may be stepping down, but know this…I'm not going ANYWHERE!!! I will remain an active member of our community. Commando is where I began my time in this game and Commando is where I will finish my time in this game.

Remember…Diehard Commandos Die Hard!!!

This is as HARD as it can to be heard.

I am quite open-minded and I have been looking around all profession, and correspondent ideas and concerns for the game.

I also noticed their reply and work with the community...

Damn ! how can you say it will not be a loss ???

You are really on the top 5 of all correspondants I have followed (and surely not far from the top, not far at all).

Your commitment to the community was astonishing.

I m so unpleased to hear that because I know the gap will be HUGH.

Now, asside from my little person being angry because my favorite source of info is leaving, I m bowing in front of you and thanking you very much for your hard work.

I can easily understand you have burnt a few "cartouches" and you need to get back some more "freedom", even if I doubt it was such a burden for you.

You must have had fun, because your communication was always very energic in the good sense of it.

In the end,I will be pleased to see you still a member of the community and I wish all the best to the one who will succeed you.

On a side I don't think I would be a Correspondent for a number of reasons. Nor do I want to. I think it would be better to elect someone with more experience and play time then I have. That is why I admire them so much, and especially Garvin.

(I'm only able to get on during the weekends in-game so I'm not the best to know what we would need fixed anyway.)

Oh no! Not Garvin!! You've been a great correspondent, especially with us, a profession that blows stuf up in-game and in-forum, then looks around to see what was there. Thanx for your work and support. Glad you'll still be active.

Garvin, please don't go. You're the best commando I know. You care about the community and even through these times you've been optimistic and hopefuly for our profession. Please reconsider.
