Rifles... Carbines.... i don't care just gimme something toREALLY REALLY REALLY hurtpeople with!
I'm a commando! i shouldn't be outdamaged bysome old woman with a pointy stick,in bad make-up and a silly hat from some cave on Dathomir. 
We "Should" be the very last thing a Jedi wants to see heading his way before the smell of burnt padawan robes fills the air. But we can't do that without the tools to do the job.

One big question... Ever had your flamethrower shot or your flamethrower special be blocked? Umm... how do you block a ball of flame or a wave of fire?

Well, could be a couple ways:
- Magic Wall
- Forcefield
- Pyrokinetic Powers
- Being made out of concrete
- Magic
- Being made out of water
- Wall of Water
- Firehose

Do random creatures and/or random NPC enemies often have these attributes? I think not.

Would the assault rifle be a bridging firearm between carbines and rifles? lower damage rifle, longer range than carbine with a
higher rate of fire than a rifle?

Just so you all know how good I mean when I change this. I compare this to an average 450-900 @ 4.8 flamethrower.

Ok, I have just returned to SWG after 6 months off.
I am dismayed that SOE has not rectified this situation with our weapons and skill trees.
I am also astounded that they have yet to do the Combat Revamp.
I have been playing table top Star Wars for over 2 decades and can name at least 12 diffrent weapons that would be more suitable to the commando. These i will list later so to give this thread a proper /bump. The E-Web is only the tip of the iceberge.
BTW
I play on Eclipse server and am a Reb looking for a good guild to join.
