I've seen a lot of ranged weapon suggestions for Commandos coming up alot lately (all good of course)...not to hijack this thread, but anyone interested in a Melee weapon being added to our profession to make use of our Unarmed pre-req in some way? Just curious if it's only Ranged that we are interested in or if folks would like to see us as a blending of the new fighting styles (Playing a bit of Devil's Adcovate here)...
Personally I would not like this. My view of Commando has always been a slow/hit damn hard profession. We should have a similiar DPS to other professions in the game. If other professions are capable of 500DPS then so should we. I could care less if I only hit every 10 seconds as long as I have a similar DPS. We could get this if our Consumables didn't have the PvP reduction and we had a little more speed for our FT and HAR. There appears to be a very good reason behind why we have consumables. The cost is to offset massive usage because they SHOULD be powerful. The only problem is we don't get any AP against turrets or at/st's. Even if we did they don't do enough damage to compete with swordsmen or pistoleer with novice commando. Personally I don't think commando needs a revamp or a massive overhaul I would just like to see some tweeks to balance us with other professions.

I personally would love to see us get a melee weapon of some sort. It really gets me thinking, though. What Imight prefer isa ranged weapon that has a melee state. If we could get around the weapon switch delay by having a weapon that could do either melee or ranged, that would be hot.
I don't know how you would add such a thing in, but you might think of it as a rifle with a bayonet. Something that uses our bit of melee skill while retaining our ranged foundation. Maybe it has a retractable blade on it, and it is a high-speed switch from one state to the other. Or maybe it is as simple as using a rifletype weapon as a bludgeon.
But no matter what, I think it does us no good whatsoever to have a melee weapon added to our arsenal if we have to deal with the weapon switch delay. We drop the flamethrower when we fire rockets, and we throw grenades with the other hand. If we do have a melee weapon added, I don't want to lose that flavor of versatility.
