This can't be right. This has to be temporary. Maybe they want to open it up so everyone can test the different weapon types.? I'm going to check this out now...

I am a Master Carbineer and Master TKM and was testing out filler professions to take the place of fencer after the upgrade. And commando just rocks.
I thought it a bit odd that commando had no specials and that most of their weapons had short range, till I realized that the specials were built in.
I took up Explosives 4 and Beam Weapons 4 as they both had enhancements that would apply to Carbineer (or any other ranged class) and TKM (or anyy other melee).
Though I wasnt overlyimpressed with grenades I am in love with the LBC, and PBC. With carbine specials they are very nasty indeed.
FYI: TKM armor is equal to the Level III Battle Armor on test center, with no penalties.
And since my alt is a 12pt Master Weaponsmith, I am thrilled with commando weapons no longer being limited use. They can be made with pride and no worry about wasting high quality resources on a limited use item.
I think commando has done very well for itself in the upgrade. /bow
