In case you still didn't get it. A choice wouldn't effect you in the slightest. If the pretty explosions just make your face light up then you have the choice to leave them, as we're discussing here. Meanwhile, those of us that can't play the game at all because of the excessive lag can chose to tone it down.

I love the graphics too. But if this is a big issue for people, why not have an option to turn the flamethrower graphics on or off?

I refuse to say I want these graphics changed. I love them all and I'll die from lag before I say lets change em.

The particle slider does jack for any particle effects in game, also it resets to default whenever you logoff.
Haveing the best graphics card shouldn't be a requirement to play this game at a rasonble amunt of FPS. Anything else is just dumb.
Another thing, preformance doesn't have much to do with processor speed as many tend to quote when listing their system specs, neither does the amount of ram in terms of FPS. It's primarily based on the preformance of your graphics card.
And I agree with the above that suggested changeing the flamethrowers attack animation to a stream instead of fireball thrower. The later is just dumb and doesn't make any sense. Removeing the screen shakeing effect or atleast an option to toggle it off is badly needed aswell, serves nothing but anoy when it happends 24/7.

Disagreed on the amount of RAM, my roomate upgraded to a gig of ram and it had a very positive effect on the Lag Pistol, and other general lag issues.
