Thread: The Pinnacle of SOE Hypocrisy

You can run to water to put out a flame dot in this game?
Wow, I had no faith whatsoever that anything in this game would make sense like that. I never even tried it.
Technically, that still doesnt make sense. Napalm is one of those kinds of burning stuff that water can't put out. Infact its one of those kinds of fire that can literally burn under water, at least I think anyway. Regardless, as soon as you get out of the water you will catch fire instantly again. Water can supress it but it can't put it out entirely unless you stay underwater a good long time. If you got covered in Napalm, kiss your ass goodbye in at most 10 seconds.
hey punisher, there is an edit button, but only for veterans which you are

What systems have we seen with minimal problems and which system had its problems fixed very early on? The chat system. Look at the flexibility and thought, which went into the chat system. You have three different ways to have your text formatted from the prose format to the old style MUD format. You have hex coding available to change your text color, socials out the wazoo, moods with freaking animations! You have spatial chat, tells, guild chat, group chat, email, creatable chat rooms and there's even cross server email, tells, and creatable chat rooms! All these things work together to make a **edit** good system of communication. The catch is, the rest of this mmog doesn't reflect the same quality of workmanship.
Didn't Q3-PO say in his tuesday tips, that the chat, and it's servers(et al) was not our Devs table, but a completely non SWG dev team?.....![]()

Well, Wolfmann31, I haven't seen that post which gives me two options. Either, you're mistaken or I just never saw it. Since I don't believe I'm always right, I think I just missed it. I'm going to go look for it and get back to you with what I find. If you per chance have a link to it and would care to post it, I could get back to you alot quicker.
I saw this post from Q also, thats why he didnt realize TC could chat with live.
EDIT
Here you go for linkage:

Thx for the link Hellshot. Wolfmann31, I stand corrected. My view of SWG was (thankfully) flawed. It gives me hope SWG is, in fact, meant to be a game and not another social experiment. It gives me more to theorize about as well ![]()
If by the oddball chance a dev comes through this thread, my apologies for my assumption. I made an ass of myself.
Thanks Hellshot.
I was to find the link, but I've been busy doing my [ST] duties on Bria...Grinding up a stormie suit, and regrind into a commando..makes me lazy on the forums. ![]()
Raanan, you missed my point I think:
You have spatial chat, tells, guild chat, group chat, email, creatable chat rooms and there's even cross server email, tells, and creatable chat rooms! All these things work together to make a **edit** good system of communication. The catch is, the rest of this mmog doesn't reflect the same quality of workmanship.
See it clearer?..The chat system, chat servers, chat functionability..Is another Dev teams job..not our devs...Wich explains the difference in worksmanship.....
(and yes, thats a blow toward our devs...As if our devs showed the same worksmanship as the chat devs...we may have played a different game...Albeit..prolly same amount of bugs *grin* (remember Guildchat bugs? ) )
