Thread: What a commando wants... what a commando needs...
You do raise intresting points about the grappling, however if your allys are useing ranged weapons it could get quite painful to hold someone down for them.... Maybe if we had "unarmed" maneuvers which used the weapon we had equiped as a melee weapon. Slam the butt of your acid rifle in his face or stomache instead of spraying him with acid, or maybe sweep your flamethrowers shoulder piece down (you know, where theres a hook-like part on the bottom?) hooking his foot and causeing a knockdown. Most grappling moves in the real world are designed specifically to sub-due or even kill a person almost instantly. You can easily snap someones neck when you have them in a headlock. Bones can be broken and arterys ruptured. It's not just about holding someone down on a mat for 3 seconds. But I still agree we need some use for unarmed, its pointless now.
Teamwork can always improve ANY situation. But maneuvers that pretty much rely solely on teamwork just isn't the commando way. Every soldier in the navy seals is an individual, they work in squads of 4-6, each member helps the others, yet any one of them could do the job alone given time. The commando is an elite soldier like a navy seal, able to reduce even storm troopers to ash with 1 shot, unlike any other class in the game. This is how I see us, the elite warriors, able to handle most any situation on our own, yet banding with other commandos to increase our efficiency that much more.
Anyway I'm considering dropping commando all together. The class as it stands now is just way to boreing. I bought this game to have fun and commando just isn't fun as a one trick poney and I highly doubt SOE will put ANY of these ideas into the game. Not unless our correspondent gives them alot of alcahol ![]()
