My Template:


Master Commando

Master Smuggler

Pistoleer 4-4-0-4

...and a bit in the FS ranged speed with the left over points.


Also, with the help of a very proficient Loot Acquisition Specialist associate, I am loaded with some awesome SEA's. My alt is a Master WSwhich has allowed me some very, very fine 'toys'.


The Master Smuggler part adds a lot of fun outside combat with slicing and some spice crafting. Call it some content if you will. Anything I can slice to make it better has been done.


This template utilzes many over lapping skill points in lower tress to allow for me to pick more useful skills. The 'crowd control' works extremely well if you know what you are doing.


The only skill I wish I had is a healing skill, but since I rarely ever solo, I am usually covered by someone who does...plus stim-Ds w/ruby goes far.


The best part is the sheer FUNI have with this template. I acknowledge that this is not a l33t, PvP killing machine......but this is the most entertaining for me.

Master Bounty Hunter, Master Commando, 0200 rifleman, 4 Force Luck,4 Force Repair

I like this template because I can use pretty much every weapon in the game with a decent level of proficiency, with exceptional proficiency with rfiles and heavy weapons (oddly enough, I think I have more riflestats at this point than I do commando stats - something you might want to have the devs re-evaluateStern).


This template means you can hunt jedi, hunt high level bounty NPC's, take quite a beating from ranged opponents (thanks to duelist stance), use both proton weapons, inflict AE states (blind, bleed, fire, dizzy/stun [albeit kinda broken], and a mild snare), and, one of my favorites, the ability to drop off the radar and snipe people.


The FS skills I have are the ones I got for hologrinding, and I'm not dropping them purely because they took such a ridiculous amount of time to get. Plus the repair bonus skill is awesome; I have much better results fixing my own gear now.

I wouldnt be taking this template unless you like hurting... this puts you at lvl 67... so your no where near the needed lvl for end game pve/pvp

I was looking over some of the other profession boards and noticed that many of them have a template thread stickied to the top of them. I was thinking of something similar for Commando. Mostly this is because I want to share my template and get some feedback. I did some number crunching and I believe I have come up with an awesome template, please take a look at it as well as my reasoning and let me know what you think.


First off, let me say that I started by looking at what MY IDEA of a RL Commando is all about. IMHO, the Commando is a dirty fighter with access to heavy weapons. But that doesn't mean that he can't use base weapons. Additionally, he must be able to sneak up behind someone and kill them before they know he is there. So, HTH is a must as well (thus the Unarmed requirement for Commando). That being said, stealth is not implemented in this game. 8-(


So what did I come up with? The template is as follows:


Master Commando/Pistol 0204/Smuggler 0242/Teras Kasi 0404


What?!?! Why would that fool (me) do that? Well, here is my justification.


This provides the template with the following mods:


Melee Def: 220, Ranged Def: 165, Gen Melee Accuracy: 105, Gen Melee Speed: 20, Gen Rng Acc: 150, Gen Rng Spd: 30

Heavy Weapons: Accuracy 55, Defense 50, Speed 45

Thrown: Accuracy 95, Speed 40

Pistol: Accuracy 40, Defense 30, Speed 25

Unarmed: Accuracy 120, Defense 60, Speed 60


Put it together and you get:


Heavy Wpn: Acc 205, Rng Def 215, Melee Def 270, Rng Speed 75, Melee Speed 60

Pistol: Acc 190, Rng Def 195, Melee Def 250, Rng Speed 55, Melee Speed 45

Unarmed: Acc 225, Rng Def 225, Melee Def 280, Rng Speed 30, Melee Speed 80


Those are pretty impressive numbers. But what about specials?


Special Types gained:

Melee - Knockdown, COB, Combo Atk (heavy damage), Armor Break

Ranged - 4 +damage specials (1 elite), Attack Delay, Action Regen Debuff, 2 Roots, State Resist Debuff, Move/Atk Debuff, Knockdown with Attack Speed Debuff, Snare and Defense Debuff


But the best Ranged special is the AOE ranged. I am not sure this will work, but, on Fan Shot I see that special applying primary damage to everything in the cone, then applying secondary damage to each mob in the cone times the number of primary damage recipients! So, if you had 4 mobs inside the Fan Shot area, each Mob would get Primary Damage from our AOE weapon, plus three AOE secondary blasts! Awesome!


Self Debuffs and Other Abilities: Feign Death (+50), Meditate (+15), Blind/Stun/Dizzy Recovery and a double Taunt Bonus


I am not entirely sure what weapons I would use with this, but I was thinking about the best Knuckles I am certed for, the Blackhand Annihilator and the Corellian Destroyer (single target)/Flamethrower (multi target).


With the stats and the abilities, I think this template would be valid for PvP and PvE even without healing mods. But in PvE it would rock! Let me know your thoughts and feelings about this template, I would appreciate the feedback!

my temple is master commando/master pistols/2-0-0-0 CM/3-3-0-0 FS combat.


this is a very good templet in group pvp but i not that good in solo pvp.


when i unlock my 2nd char for jedi i will make him a commando/ CM/ carb 0-4-0-0

Template Purpose


To provide support for Grp PvP and assist in Base Takedowns



Pro's


Concussion shot, Panic shot, Stopping shot, KD shot, Crippling shot are all great abilies to keep enemies at bay or at the very least with AoE effect busy. With ranged arms can also take out Turrets. Has skills for Bases takedowns. Decent Ranged n Melee defenses and high General Ranged speed n Acc mods.



Negatives


Nov Med doesnt really help ya if u all of a sudden become "the next target". Not a great solo template, need a good grp to really be effective in PvP. This Template just makes ya a level 80 so there is no room for any more Medic without dropping to a level 78-79.


Conclusion


I like it alot and im havin fun using this template when im out with my guildies etc. Itseffective and versatile.

While it may not be good for PvP I'm actually feel I'm doing pretty good getting my skill boxes.
I'm just glad my main is an armorsmith.

I'm currently a Commando 1040 / Doctor 3003 / Marksman 1004 / Medic 4240 / Novice Scout

Template Purpose

To provide support for groups and be self-suffciant. Also to be desireable to have in a group (doctor heals and buffs).

Pro's

Doctor Buffs make things a bit easier, uber Healing while I'm pounding away at targets allows me to focus on applying damage.
Very much the Tank.
Simple template to use; only have to worry about healing and doing damage.
Can shoot pretty quick alternating between the standard zero skill cost ranged shot and the marksman 1000 'Aimed' shot.
The template has plenty of endurance and can survive steady aggro.

Negatives

No variety in skills' when shooting.. only do damage and heal.
Draws aggro pretty quick (when everyone else is starting out with crowd control to applying states your already doing damage and incruing aggro healing whom-ever is getting munched upon (including the HoT's (Heals over Time) I lay down on myself and the main tank).
No damage-enhancing shots (I normally have to drop at least one heal during each battle).

Conclusion

A simple template that allows one to focus on doing damage. The heals and buffs helps not only the character but also the entire group (providing you can keep everyone buffed).

I went with Teras Kasi Master and Master Commando with some medic skills thrown in for survivability. This template gives me a lot of options while not gimping my offense or defense. Itsflexible, with access to range and melee attacks as well as the ability to recover from states and inate armor. I haven't played the template yet in pvp but it is very fun for pve. Currently, I am making up my mind between going for novice doctor to increase my healing ability and utilityor to stick with novice medic and take novice smuggler for concussion shot.


Purpose: To have fun in a group or solo while being able to tank, deal damage or heal as needed.

Note: Improved Center of Being increases my defense by 500. If I am using heavy weapons, I activate CoB then ready my weapon. When it runs out, I have a macro that will removes my weapon, activates CoB and readies my weapon again. Also, food and drink are your friends.
