4 legs good *slaps self* I think we should grab someone for interim guild leader / mayor, then let the in game election process do its work. Therefore I will not vote here, but in game. The in game system is better I think, since many people just don't post on here. I know I didn't until recently.

Hehe....if we decide to do the ingame polls, then the winner has to defeat the current leader to obtain the right to lead the guild

How about we keep the current leaders, but leave in a very Commando like system that is open to any challengers. First, Anyone who wishes to replace the current leadership must openly challenge the incumbent leader or mayor to a duel. Then, in front of a set of witnesses the two fight it out. If the challenger wins, he gets to run against the incumbent leader or mayor in an in-game election. This way, a challenger must not only be a skilled fighter, but also a skilled politician. The duel and subsequent election will also give us a clue as to the character of the challenger and incumbent. How did they conduct themselves in the fight? Did they try to use exploits? Where they clever? How did they behaive when they won/lost? As a martial guild I think this system would add some cool player "content" to the game. As for "peaceful" transfers of power where both players are in aggreement to the change the incumbent could just "throw" the fight, but there would still have to be a fight! I mean c'mon we're SWG Commandos!

The only problem with that is, it comes down to money. If you have money, you get a good flamer, you own. put an equal 2 commando CL 80 etc together, it is luck. Plus, say for example the guild leader has a build that isn't made for strength, but for benefit, like (no offence to anyone) Commando/SL. Surely you will suck in Combat, but you are sacrificing that strength for the guild. So I think it should be more based on knowledge of the profession in a way. To know WHAT to do in combat. A total idiot can step up, beat someone, and then get voted in by lieing easy, but it is hard to get a real idiot to explain how to fight, and why to fight that way.

Also, I want to add, I would agree with the fighting thing, but SWG doesn't give the perk of what it should. You can know NOTHING about being a commando and win a duel. In real Star Wars stuff, that just isn't so. Knowledge and level should make you stronger. Canderous Ordo, say he is a Master Commando, knows more about being one, then say me. If I fought him, I should get demolished. But in SWG, that can't happen, because we both have the same strengths. Age means nothing.

That'd just make it really, really, REALLY exploitable. Think about it:

N00b joins guild.

N00b immediately challenges GL to a duel for leadership.

N00b wins by chance.

N00b takes over, disbands the guild, and runs off with the hall.

I vote for me!

Oh, wait, you said we can't do that.

Poop.

Then I say we either stick with Joken, or give the position to the correspondent, and change leaders as correspondents change.

***Valcyn - Lt. Colonel Ryubushi [ONE] of the Empire (the Tank Maniac); Career Master Commando, Master Carbineer, and extremely Anti-NGE.
***Eclipse - Ryushidosha, freelancer; Scaley Master Carbineer, ranger, merc for hire, and general sociopath...that despises the NGE.
***StarSider - Ja'ahn Woo [PYRO] of the Alliance - The Galaxy's first Jawa commando/carbineer...who also hates the NGE.

People like me...because I force them to...with violence!

yeah... that would fix it, lol. We can't do duels, it would be to easily beaten. Knowledge would be more appropriate for a good leader. And the guildies should have the ability not to care about the duel and just elect someone on their own. So the person doesn't challenge, but everyone says "This leader blows" and everyone votes for 1 guy. Kind of an impeachment process (so remember Joken, no girls in the office, but it is ok to bomb, murder, and destroy other cities. As long as you don't get something under your desk, you can do anything without being impeached )
