if your only elite combat prof is commando you cap at 170k
if you have another combat prof with commando (ie rifles, TK or whatever) then you cap at 300k

It's nothing to do with them, the cap's been there since ever. Same as the 3k HW XP per MOB cap.

Do you have to me a master in another elite profession to get the 300K XP cap? I'm only 4000 in TKA and still can cap at 300K XP. Other than Master Commando, I've only got the 4000 TKA and no other elite profession.

No, you don't have to be master to get that cap, possibly just a novice, I'm not sure.

You just need the tree that requires the combat xp to train of an Elite Combat Prof and you will cap at 300k xp
