Yeah and necrossis isnt exactly easy to beat either. Took us a full group with 2 jedi to get all the way down. THen you've got to fight a horde of bots which actually go down rather easy. And then this lightsaber weielding robot pops out and starts kicking major ass.No one died though. And whats worse? Some of the loot he drops is total crap. Your not even guaranteed something decent for your troubles. I'm kinda pissed about that one myself.


I mean the MBH weapon is easy as hell to get. I've allready doen it. It's a kick ass carbine. But.... I want my commando weapon!

I came across it, like the other people said, by doing it. We did it in a group of 5. 1 person hid in the corner to rez us if we needed it. We didn't. It wasn't even particurally hard, as long as you pay attention. It's quite fun though. All you need is the right group. It's a random drop - he has at least 4 random items he can drop, and 2 guarenteed drops. One of the randoms, is the proton rifle.

Necrosis is level 92 right now, his guards 87.

Yeah, this is tip-top.


I'm a master rifleman, as well as master commando. Us rifledudes were looking forward to be being able to buy a decent, kinetic,master level weapon. (the LD-1, or the explosive shell sniper rifle), turns out that the LD-1 is loot as well, and also sucks stats wise.


I bet the weaponsmiths are spitting teeth, and who can blame them?


Why did we bother trying this stuff out on test if its implemented this way? As it stands, we could well be gated from getting this bit of kit, and if and when we have it, who would dare use it?



Starnick, you want to go yell at someone, for all the good it will do. Please?

Game sure was fun on Test center wasn't it. Nobody can afford the new factional armor and now we find out the proton rifle is worthless too. Good job devs

Let me get this straight. You cannot afford to buy, or to bio link it?


Cost me 700k to bio link it because my smuggler isn't a colonel, and neither am I. Neither of us were Overt, which Im told might have helped a little. Needless to say, unless you're an armoursmith, or know one.It's going to be1million credits for a suit of armour."unaffordable" hardly, but just wait. With that much demand, people will pick up the profession just to fill the "viod" (that isn't there, and will be filled in two weeks when the 1mil suits stop selling).

The Proton Rifle is the Master Commando Rifle with +10 Heavy Accuracy/Speed. It's Base DPS is ~270. It is a random loot drop from N-K Necrosis in the very end of the Myyydryl Caverns.

so and who or what is this necrosis? is it the dungeons name? if not, what's the dungeons name? i think all of us want this rifle

and are these informations exact? who of you does already have one?

Ive heard some people have received both the rifle and carbine as random loot, I guess these weapons will drop from various mobs at times, but Im sure there is a quest that will give the rifle aswell.. I cannot understand that the Devs would give away master level weapons to all the other careers via quests, and the Master Commando weapon from random loot... sounds fishy..


So Big Blue Can you use your influence to atleast get a yes or no from the Devs on this? Can the rifle be obtained from a quest or just loot?



If its just loot I think we should push for it to be quest realted, I dont care if its ultra hard.. just aslong as more that one person can get it..

i killed necrosis the day the rotw went live and looted a renamed explosive shell rifle (which has a mbh cert now) with marginal stats.


i also looted the grievous starfighter deed (tier 4) ,a cybernetic arm,and a special color saber crystal (darth banes heart).


My friend completed the dungeon right afterwards and looted a different weapon (dont recall atm) but it wasnt a proton rifle either.

We killed him 7 times on the first day and recieved 7 different renamed weapons as loot. No banes heart, and no proton rifle either.

I for one am not entirely upset that it's a random drop. The problem I see is that the rifle doesn't make it worth it. 270 est dps? Did I not see the carbine has a 325 est dps? I am not one to rant and rave so please don't take this as such but we've gotta even this up a bit. We are slow, have no specials, and our guns make up for it by being AoE. The only one that isn't is this proton rifle however the current stats make this equitable to a mid to low level weapon with those stats. The current reasoning with AoE damage does not come into play on this one (assuming the devs fix the AoE) so the dmg should be significantly boosted to come in line with at least the proton carbine (needs to be 300+ dps at the very least but between 325-350 given it's cert requirement, rarity, and role of the class that uses it).

is their a seperate mission for this thing?


i am working on finishing all the missions for the dead forest and Myydril caves and should have a decent clue by the end of the week. (some missions are broke and need patching)



i wonder if its possible that the proton rifle is a reward for doing an outsider quest, i cant do em because i didnt kill the village hero...


heya, if any of you commandos on sunrunner want to hit nekrosis with a group, look me up.
