Without dabbling, commando is basically useless in most high level situations, whereas many of the non hybrid professions do not require dabbling to be useful. The ft is our only valid weapon, we have nothing else to fall back on when the mob or player has 80% heat resists. Every other combat profession in the game has an alternate damage type or a state changing attack to use when their primary is doing pitiful damage, whereas as commandos that use 169 skillpoints, we gain neither of those. Dabbling should enhance our capabilities, not make us semi work as a class.

think of it like this:

if 169 > 92

then commando damage output > [insert profession that spends 92 points to master]

thats logical. ofcourse, the tka's would never stand for that. so we are forced to settle for:

if 169 > 92

then commando damage output ~= [insert profession that spends 92 points to master]

be we dont even have that. in pvp, we do very little damage, every 9 or so seconds. thats without status effects(the dot is a joke, doenst even count anymore). TKA's on the other hand can deal out the same ammount of damage we do in one shot, but they do it every second. plus they have kd, so their opponent cant even fight back. i dont mean to pick on tka, but they are the first profession to come to mind. the same pretty much applies to all the other non-hybrid elite classes. granted, we do pretty well in PvE, assuming whatever critter we are faced with has low/no heat resist.

i dont want to be uber, i want a working profession that can atleast compete with the other combat classes. thats all.

also, please quit saying "pick up tka ....blah blah blah", no, wrong. a pure tka can absolutly rape a commando. same applies to pistoleer, carbineer, rifleman, ect. its illogical to spend the rest of my skill points on another profession just to make me viable in pvp. a pure commando should, at the very least, be able to occupy a tka/rifleman/whatever for more than 3 seconds. logic be damned, tho, i suppose.
